Rodgers will count $40.3M toward GB's 2023 cap regardless of what happens with his reworked contract with the Jets.

We avoided the very significant additional hits that would have triggered had he been on the roster this season. The current hit is money already paid but classed in a way that allowed it to be spread out for cap purposes. Such prior payments so allocated can’t be transferred into the cap of another franchise. They are set in stone. The trade capped those and oroted the next batch falling to us.

I agree with kicker as most concerning. It seems they are overly relying on Rich's familiarity with him. His stats in college in a warm weather state do not inspire confidence for me.
