Packers Wide Receiver Myles White Placed on Injured Reserve, J.C. Tretter Activated

The Green Bay Packers activated rookie offensive lineman J.C. Tretter from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list on Monday, elevating him to the 53-man roster.

To make room, the Packers placed rookie wide receiver Myles White on injured reserve. In seven games this season, White caught nine passes for 66 yards (7.3 ypc).

It was not immediately known what type of injury landed White on I.R. He was never listed on the team's injury report and wasn't obviously injured at any point in the Packers' last game against the Falcons this past Sunday.

With the addition of Tretter, the Packers now have nine offensive linemen on their active roster, making it highly unlikely all nine will be active on game days. Whether Tretter will be one of them could depend on how healthy the other offensive linemen are in any given week.

hopefully this will mean more inactive days ahead for Marshall Newhouse and maybe the line won't need to shift when EDS gets injured again

At least he can practice for the rest of the season now

I wonder how much EDS's pending free agent status following this season necessitated getting Tretter reps?

So.....does this mean we'll see Randall Cobb in the near future?

If by "near future" you mean the 2014 season... then "yes" we should see Cobb "in the near future".

yeah i don't we'll see cobb again this season and i'm beginning to think the same thing about rodgers

I noticed White get up limping after his short catch near the end of the game. Maybe that was the plan to get Tretter on the roster????

Myles, don't walk, run to the weight room and don't come out till July.

Sounds like Tretter was just brought up because all the padded practices he missed. MM didn't say but was leaning in that direction.

Like Sherrod, Tretter won't see the field in '13 but 2014 could be fun.

Bulaga Sittion Tretter Lang Sherrod

Though EDS was good, and had the backing of Rodgers. Tretter could even be more dominate at the point of attack for the running game. Plus it's not a good sign when EDS is starting to have a gimpie knee.

Sorry but following this season Bakhtiari won't be the starting left tackle next year barring injury. An offseason in the weight room and I think we've pulled a rabbit out the hat. Bulaga to RT and hopefully resign EDS or address it in the draft.

Sherrod can continue to get strength back and maybe challenge for a spot and be a top swing back up.

Bakhtiari will be or won't be the starting LT next year?

whaler92's picture

Will my bad with a tired typo

Fiscr's picture

As bad as our year has been injury wise. Is it possible the Cowboys have been hit worse? For the matter. The whole league is falling apart to the tune of 103 Tds so if only Rodgers could come back.

Did the Cowboys lose their Starting QB, their backup QB, 2 of their top 4 offensive weapons, and Best defensive player?

Plus starting Left Tackle and their arguably best CB last year?

and going into the season, their starting RB.

This move surprised me. Not necessarily that Tretter got activated, but that White was the one to go to IR.

I would have guessed a number of other players would have went on IR before White.

I do wonder now if we might start seeing Harper playing more?

Same here, as I've posted yesterday I thought they'd waive Harper. But now with only 4 WRs on the roster, they have to have him active on gamedays I think. Unless they continue throwing more to TEs as they did against the Falcons.
But Myles White I never saw coming. Wonder what his injury is.
