Packers trade Justin McCray to Browns for swap of draft picks

The team had planned on releasing the lineman until the Browns called at the last minute.

After informing the veteran offensive lineman that he would be released earlier in the day, the Packers ended up trading Justin McCray to the Cleveland Browns just before the 4pm est deadline.

Happy for Justin that he will go somewhere that will have familiarity to it and a chance to win a lot of games.
Good Luck, Justin!

That's funny. Ironic. Can't wait to count the posts about this that correspond with our front office being really stupid and CLE the 'real' packers and how Justin sucks

I rewatched the Bears opening game (from last season)
yesterday in preparation for the season opener this Thursday. McCray single handedly wreaked the first half.

I'm not disappointed that he's been released because we have upgraded the position considerably and this will be a major difference from last year to this year. Rodgers will be protected much better and we have better depth also

Packers cutting Kizer says Schefter.

Hopefully the Kizer trade ends up being BGs biggest Mulligan.

Gute was brand new so forgiven, but... should have been able to see past the incompetence of Capers and McCarthy to see that Randal was a good player who just couldn't take Ha Ha's crappy play and Capers stupid D. His problem is he let it be known with his attitude, but Gute should have credited him for his passion. It was a huge fail. Would be a nice player to have right now.

McCarthy also like Kizer coming out of Notre Dame. The Guru had some input in that deal, I'm sure.

A bit confused by that one, because as much as we all love Jordy he didn't light the world on fire in Oakland, and they cut him after one season.

Interesting that they swapped picks?
Does this mean Gute thinks the Packers will have a better record than Cleveland, thus would draft later? Interesting and a bit of a gamble but not a big one.
Odd don’t you think?

Perhaps a CLE 6th rounder for one of the Packers' 7th rounders?

I imagine there is some wording to say that the packers get the higher of the two picks between browns first pick in 7th and packers last pick in the 7th.

I'll bet there are all sorts of conditions on it so that we come out with a better draft pick no matter how it goes.

I'm still hoping for a Lane Taylor trade. Jenkins should start.

Not against two of the best defenses in the NFL, in a row. Let him get his technique down before being thrown to the wolves. He is good , no doubt, but Taylor has something to prove against Hicks.

Yes...Packers now have the leading QB this preseason with 6 TD passes...Tim Boyle...as their backup. He’s going to be exciting to watch leading this Packer offense should Rodgers not be available a game or 2 this season. He has displayed the passing skills and pocket poise to develop into a starting NFL QB if given the opportunity.

Yeah Right.... Kizer was a salary cut. Boyle is not ready, looks like space clearing for cut pickup at QB position. We all know it's Rodgers or bust this year. Pray for the health of the O line....

Pierre,
I too like much about Boyle but agree with Jannes (Coldwell thinks he needs 2 years and I tend to agree) that Boyle needs more experience/time to become successful.

Do you remember Jayrone Elliott the LB (about 2013 or 2014) when he came into the league and led the NFL in pre-season with 6 sacks? Remember being so excited about Jayrone but he never developed into much as a player. This pre-season our own Ty Summers led the NFL with 30 tackles. Time will tell with both Boyle and Ty.

Great article, thanks for posting. Usually, I do not follow the news, but this topic interested me. I am a college student and sometimes it is quite difficult for me because teachers ask a lot. At such moments, the https://freebooksummary.com/good-manners-and-right-conduct-at-school-ess... helps me through which I can find many free materials.
