Packers to pick up 5th year option on Darnell Savage
Expect Rashan Gary to have his fifth year option picked up as well.

The Packers are expected to pick up the fifth-year option on safety Darnell Savage, according his agent Seth Katz of @AMGPROSPORTS. Should be official and filed with the league soon.
Expect the same for Rashan Gary.

Savage has gone from four interceptions, 12 passes defensed and 75 tackles in 15 games in 2020 to two interceptions, nine passes defensed and 63 tackles in 17 games in 2021.
Here's hoping 2022 shows a swing back to his 2020 form.

So far I'd give him maybe a high "C" at best. It's more than just one game. He's dropped a few interception opportunities and misses more tackles than you'd like (actually twice as many as Amos last season). He's been very reliable as far as staying on the field goes, so that's definitely something that works in his favor.

I'm glad!
He will continue to improve and he is young. Equally important one less need to use a valuable draft pick to reload hoping we find a better Safety than Savage. Likely goodbye Amos, so another Safety needed!

It appeared he had great difficulty tracking deep balls, prompting questions about his vision and/or depth perception. Whatever it is, Correcting it will go a long way to hopefully achieving a championship.

He's much better playing up or in the robber role than he is playing deep that's for sure. The problem is so is Amos. Finding a guy comfortable playing single high or split deep would definitely help the defense take yet another step. On top of Walker and Wyatt and hopefully an Edge tonight or early tomorrow and a top 5 defense would just be about in the bag.

Not surprised, they don't have anyone to replace him.
