Packers Stock Report Week 13 Getting Back in the New York Groove

I am very bullish following the Packers 31-13 win against the Giants, see why.

Well, the Packers had what they hope will prove to be a galvanizing performance against the Giants.  Look, all of the naysayers will say that a 31-13 victory against the Giants isn't all that impressive (all of you probably expected the Packers to lose) but it was a much-needed victory that restored confidence and belief in a group that had suddenly come under fire.  When you're 9-3 in the NFL, you are clearly doing something right.  When you have a chance to double your win output from a season ago, your organization is certainly headed in the right direction.

Buy, Buy, Buy

1. Brian Bulaga:

With the Packers playing against the Giants and Redskins on back to back weeks, I expected the Packers to play it safe with Bulaga as he nursed an MCL injury on the same knee that he tore his ACL just two calendar years prior.  Instead, Bulaga played one week after suffering the injury and shut his opponents down, providing Aaron Rodgers with a relatively clean pocket.

2. Davante Adams:

Davante did what he had to do and make plays all game long.  He was able to make plays and create openings against a putrid Giants secondary on his way to tallying 6 catches for 64 yards and 2 touchdowns.  I guess targeting Davante Adams doesn't negatively affect the offense after all.

3. Matt LaFleur:

I know this is an unpopular take because he's 9-3, so naturally, Packer fans already want to run him out of town, but LaFleur is actually 3-0 with a +36-point differential.  Remember, LaFleur is still finding his groove as a play caller, but he's still doing a pretty damn good job considering each of the last two Packer teams won 7 and then 6 games respectively.

4. The Packers Secondary:

Although the defense gave up plenty of frustrating yards throughout the game, they always found a way to force a crucial turnover which stalled Giant drives and gave the Packers more opportunities for easy points.  The secondary has proven time after time that they step up and make plays when the game is on the line.

5. Mason Crosby:

Talk about playing through adversity, Mason Crosby has done just that for the past year plus.  Crosby has stepped up and been the leader and family man his family has needed him to be and that should be commended.  Secondly, since the Detroit Lion game last season, Crosby is 92/95 on kicks.  It is safe to say that Crosby has bounced back and won the Packers kicking job convincingly.

Sell, sell, sell

1. Jimmy Graham:

It's official Jimmy Graham is nothing more than a spare part and next year will be a much needed relief when the Packers can get some much needed cap relief by cutting him.  Jimmy's disappearing act has negatively affected the offense as they are still looking for a reliable tight end to replace the production of Jermichael Finley and Jared Cook.

2. MVS:

MVS continues to struggle and lose the trust of Aaron Rodgers.  His promising start to 2019 has quickly dissipated and he figures to be buried on the bench for the rest of the season.

1. No to Bulaga.(Abstain). Yes to Arron Rodgers at #1. Agree with the rest. Sell. - No to Graham. Sell - Tonyan had his worst game. MVS (abstain) Sell- Martinez- Guy still can't plug a hole. Forget Coverage.

Stockholder,
Didn’t you hear Chris Spielman state during the game that Blake Martinez does it all!? Tackle, blitz and is great in coverage. Maybe that was just 1 LB showing love to another, or he didn’t watch any film.

Buy, buy, buy Allen Lazard!
• 29 Targets/22 Receptions/330 YDS/15.0 Average
• That’s a 75% catch rate!
• He is becoming a very productive receiver and his stats illustrate the value

"LaFleur is actually 3-0 with a +36-point differential"

I don't understand this comment. Typo?

Regarding the +36, it would be interesting to see how important that statistic is in determining post-season success. Obviously good teams are going to generally be in the positive and the bad teams in the negative. However, GB and SEA are currently +30, while SF is +165 and BAL is +200.

"They just need to play!" - Aaron Nagler

No, they actually needed to bring in a #2 WR to play in the slot this past off-season. Or better, dumped Graham and re-signed Cobb.

MVS doesn't look like anything more than a poor man's Billy Schroeder.

We doubled our wins from last year because we didn’t trot out deshone kizer ( I actually had to google him because I must of blocked out his name). I’m happy with the coaching staff( mostly) and our roster( mostly ) but many things need improvement. Does that make me a naysayer?

I agree with point Packer probably should have kept Cobb over Graham.

Cobb should have played for the Packers free of charge, after 3 on non productive, injury filled seasons where he raked in over 30M!

Because of the amount of dead money left on his contract, cutting Graham would not have paid for Cobb. Graham will be an easy cut this year as the dead money is now small.

They already have Perry living off dead cap and a host of other players. The error was made in signing the guy last year to big money in lieu of a younger free agent TE (s). Epic Fail as they say from the Triumvirate over at Packertown LLC.

Did you watch the 4th down pass to GMO? Then go back and what AROD bail out a weak effort by Bulaga just as AROD has bailed him out repeatedly this year and over his career.

In all seriousness how many QBs get that pass away much less complete it?

I'll buy the secondary when they can get back to at least a league middling average on 3rd down pass defense. Until then, they haven't proved their stock value, which, let's say that unit was gotten at a premium purchase price of 3 first rounders and a second rounder (not mentioning another first and second that has been shown the door).

I'm not basing this on a long term buy just this week's performance. Yes, they gave up yards but Savage, Tramon, and even erratic Kevin King stepped up. This group as constructed looks to finally have a chance to make plays for a long time. Jaire, Savage, and Amos are going to continue to grow in this system may be Tramon can play in a specialized role for another year. They will need to add some depth, get Brown healthy, hope Hollman develops and transition Jackson to an impact special teams player like Bush.

Which Packer fans are wanting to run LaFleur out of town? I’ve not come across any.
