We are scared to just pile drive run and too addicted to the shotgun. Dillon can carry a pile, but, in addition to better middle push, he also needs to hit it hard and straight on. Just bad use players as part of a wider issue in the red zone.

I think just Gary's presence would draw enough attention to make the IDL more effective. The Detroit OTs are good enough that they don't need help against the outside pass rushers the Packers were trotting out there. That said, it seemed to me that they chipped Preston Smith with a TE or RB pretty regularly, too.

MLF and the Packers showed how weak they were on the 4th and 1. I like the decision to go for it but a QB sneak or Dillon up the middle. Impose your will early and set the tone. NO, instead, MLF tries a bullshit trick play. Game over at that point. Then at the 5 yard line running from the shotgun? Really? Detroit owned the line of scrimmage all night. First order of business for 2023 is hire a new GM... Packers were clearly out coached, out hustled, out Managed an out played by a team that had nothing to play for, their season was over before it started. It's obvious to me many Packer ticket holders felt the same way about this years team by selling their tickets to Lion fans. There was a sea of blue sitting in the stands. Packers are clearly not a playoff team, they need so much. It would have been just as embarrassing next week against the 49ers. Please bring in a new GM and coaches who can evaluate talent. I'm tired of dumpster diver Gute bringing in lackluster players/retreads. The offense needs talented receivers and stronger more physical O-lineman. The Lions owned the Packers in the trenches. Not surprised at the outcome...

I never saw the reason in the game, but I was curious why they made the switch to Tom over Nijman. Was it due to injury or was it do to Tom ended up being the better player?

I thought Tom played really well. The only real pressure he gave up that I remember was when Runyan came over to help, and he actually helped the DE to get around Tom. Tom had him set up well and Runyan knocked him off of Tom.

Actually Crosby made three out of four FGs, not two out of three. I agree that the defense basically played well enough against a good offense but the lack of pressure on Goff as the game went on may have been the deciding factor. They just didn't have enough horses.

There is no one big thing that sticks out in this game, just lots of little things that went wrong. Rodgers played pretty well until his desperation heave that got intercepted. The Packer O-line had a bad day against a defense that hasn't been very good this year. It looked like two average NFL teams playing each other, which is exactly what it was.

The big question: What on earth was going through Rasul Douglas's mind on that field goal attempt, when he swatted the ball away? It was weird, but on the other hand, I'm not sure why it was a penalty. I think the timeout had already been called.

This season was predictable. Many of us did predict it. The team refused to face up to reality last year. We weren’t good all season and we are not well coached, tough or innovative. We’ve reached the dead end TT avoided. We have a President who hired LaFleur then ceded control to Rodgers, gutting our cap in the future. We then compounded it by mis or underusing rookies and coaching failures. There is no improvement without a true clear out.

Let Love play and start to heal the cap under a new Head Coach with some vision, conviction and fire. If Love fails then get that draft pick and use the renewed cap to move on. The past has fled: stop living in it and stop denying the obvious mistakes that led us here.

Matt LaFleur is falling the way of many of the new crop of Sean McVay coaches. Young, up-and-coming, and full of ideas. The problem is, they start running out of those ideas, so they keep recycling. Just like the surprise of a Colin Kaepernick emergence, the luster wears off and the team returns to mediocrity. This is where we are at with Matt LaFleur.

After seeing what has transpired this past season, it is easy to understand why the Packers need a strong offensive coordinator. The play calling this season has been predictable, uninspired, and weak. Nowhere do you see player's talents being used to the team's benefit. By the time a good offensive play is discovered, the opponent has tape on it, and figured out how to stop it. A designated offensive coordinator could have been able to be three steps ahead of that curve.

A head coach should be orchestrating all 3 sides of the ball, not concentrating on one side, and then allowing the other coordinators to do what they please in their portions of the game. The head coach needs to have a say in all parts of the game at all times of the game.

Bottom line: Matt LaFleur needs to sit down and assess his own weaknesses, and then he needs to evaluate his staff and plug the holes. That's what a head coach does. If he again fails to do that, he will not be seeing a 6th year in Green and Gold.

the best part of this miserable season of mediocre to bad football is the greatreynaldo's excellent snapcount columsn. i was at the game and the best thing there were the comments from two quite overweight ladies behind me: "oh it must be his thumb, ya, it is his thumb?", no says the other, it is his rookie receivers, that's it", needless to say for us who were there we did not quite get what douglas and walker did for the megatron scoreboard replay did not run those clips. This team was simply not ready to play football on both sides of the ball, and i thought it would be warmer than it turned out to be and froze my ass to boot. time to rebuild, from the bottom up, and kick walker off the team. and out of the league

Once we get into the red zone, especially inside the 10, its two runs and then I Rodgers the great will reluctantly try and pass into coverage and hope and pray it doesn't get intercepted. No problem we can always kick that field goal for three points.

OK, is it safe now to say that it was a mistake to go with Rodgers this year instead of trading him to Denver for the picks we could have gotten? Would we have been much worse off with Love than 8-9?

Look, I wanted to trade Rodgers then. I understood why they went with him for another year. I can't imagine this is anybody's idea of things working out well, and I won't understand if he's our QB next year.
