Packers Sign Cardia Jackson To Practice Squad

The Packers have signed the rookie linebacker from Louisiana-Monroe to their practice squad.

The Green Bay Packers signed rookie linebacker Cardia Jackson to the practice squad. A spot opened up when linebacker Mike Rivera was signed to the Miami Dolphins' 53-man roster.

Jackson originally signed with the St. Louis Rams as an undrafted free agent and played with them in the preseason before being cut on the final roster cutdown.

He was the 2009 Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year in 2009 for the University of Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks when he led the conference with 117 tackles.

Jackson is 6-1, 236 pounds and will wear no. 48 with the Packers.

The Packers also announced they released wide receiver Terrance Smith from the practice squad/injured list.

But, surely an undrafted free-agent out of the Sun Belt conference must have a montage of highlight film out there?

This is the caliber player opposite Clay for the last month. You cant say Tramon had the best year of all the defenders when he had the luxury of Woodson, Shields, and Collins in the same backfield.

is he fast? the way the OLB spot opposite Clay Matthews is like the drummer from spinal tap so he'll probably be starting against Mike Vick.

Practice squad is akin to being on life-support. Unfortunate for him, his middle name is 'Cadere', actually latin for cadaver.
