Packers show reported interest in James Morgan
The Ashwaubenon native grew up a Brett Favre fan.

The Packers have reportedly shown significant interest in Ashwaubenon's own James Morgan.
Among the teams most interested in Florida International quarterback James Morgan after a strong NFL scouting combine: Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Jets, Carolina Panthers and Indianapolis Colts

If selected by the Packers, Morgan would become the first area quarterback drafted in 32 years.
The Florida International product grew up a Brett Favre fan, which he spoke about at the Combine last week.
"He [Favre] was my hero growing up, since before I can remember I played football and growing up with him in the background and watching the magic that he did.
I remember that Monday night game the day after his dad died, I was up late watching that one, my parents let me stay up late and I was just memorized. And how amazing it was. The performances that he consistently put out and a gunslinger mentality.
I have tried to emulate that with my own game I’m not afraid to make any throw out there at the same time you have to have the Rodgers it might be safer here to take a check down or something instead of trying to force something. I definitely take both from a little bit of those guys and they are definitely an inspiration for me."
It wouldn't be a surprise for Gutekunst to draft this kid to compete with Tim Boyle for the backup quarterback job.

No, just no! The man could not hit the broad side of a barn. Who cares if he from Wisconsin?

His Junior year was 65% completion rate with a 9 yard completion average, but regressed to 58% his senior year. You’re probably right but would be worth a flyer in the late rounds. He is a project thou.

Also, Favre couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn in college as he was a four year career 52% completion rate in college. He got coached up by Holmgren. You can teach a lot in the NFL but not size and strong arm.

3 7th round picks...those are all really preferred UDFAs.
No issue with them taking him there. He probably sits on the PS for a year and then replaces Tim "Dash's favorite" Boyle. There are enough QB coaches around that they can likely clean up his footwork and give him a fighting chance to be a serviceable #2.

Neither was Tom Brady.....he certainly has a strong arm and great measurables. With real NFL coaching and not an off school college coaching you never know.

That blistering 4.90-40 time screams WR.

Na, remember, they already found a way to lose that guy to the Saints.
