Packers Send Rodgers, Matthews & Sitton To the Pro Bowl

Packers Send Rodgers, Matthews & Sitton To the Pro Bowl

From the team:

Represented by three members of the team, the Green Bay Packers learned Tuesday that linebacker Clay Matthews, quarterback Aaron Rodgers and guard Josh Sitton were named to the Pro Bowl by the National Football League.

Fullback John Kuhn was named first alternate.

Other alternates include WR Randall Cobb, DT Mike Daniels, WR James Jones, RB Eddie Lacy, G T.J. Lang, LB Julius Peppers and CB Sam Shields

I'm kind of surprised the Packers even had three guys selected, but the power of the fan voting for the Pro Bowl is real.

"I'm kinda surprised the Packers even had three guys selected, but the power of fan voting for the Pro Bowl is real". Isn't it the fans that make all this possible? If no one went to games or watched the commercial laden games on tv, there would be no football. Power to the people. We fans should be treated like royalty.

True enough, 4th and 1: just don't use selection to the pro bowl as evidence that the player is one of the best, or even good.

The fans voted Jeff Saturday to the Pro Bowl the year he got benched in Green Bay.

Royalty indeed.

So what, Its there vote. Without fans, we wouldn't be here bitching about fans voting. The all pro team is the real deal anyway.

Oppy's picture

True, the all pro team is the real deal.. because it eliminates the fan vote, which by and large is ignorant.

Just sayin'. Yes, fan money makes the game possible, but if the day comes when fans start making the calls in the form of structure, rules, personnel and so forth, the game is over.

What? No devante adumbs? This has to be rigged.

Interesting that Clay made it as an Inside Linebacker. Must be the large lead in QB Hits and Hurries.

How mant ILB have more impact plays?

No one on the Packers roster except Daniels, Shields and Crosby deserved it.

Meh. The Probowl sucks anyway.

I'd say Daniels is the only one who might have a legitimate beef. Shields has been very good, but the CB roster is pretty loaded with decent players, and it's hard to argue. And there are a number of other good corners - think Darius Slay from DET - who might be "snubbed" just as much as Shields.

You're spot on about the Probowl sucking, of course.

I think Jeff Janis deserves a spot on special teams.

ProBowl != 'deserves a spot'

Hopefully none of our guys play in the Pro Bowl because they are getting ready for the Super Bowl. Go Pack Go! Thanks, Since '61

you probably missed Matthews because he's apparently not the right color.

I thought the Pro Bowl was a percentage vote of players, coaches and fans...am I wrong on this?

D-wing's picture

Fans count for 1/3 of the vote, coaches and players count for the remaining 2/3.

the only guy I thought, Crosby
