Packers Question of the Day: Young Talent

Which young player are you most looking forward to -- hopefully -- seeing on Sunday as the Packers close out their regular season against the Lions?

We saw Michael Clark and Reggie Gilbert make their regular season debuts Saturday night in the loss to the Vikings, and both impressed. Will it be the seemingly fan favorite duo that you roll with this week or is there someone else in mind?

Joe Callahan but we know McTubby won't let that happen. I just remember last preseason when he did what Tysom Hill did this year. Just wish the kid would get one shot. He can't do any worse then Hundley...

Callahan, Mays and Byrd as well. Sad how we have no real TEs.

Mays.

Based on preseason, I've seen enough of Callahan, but I don't really care. If Kendricks and Clark make those easy catches, then everyone is off of Hundley's back.

I just don't understand why Aaron Jones isn't the #1 RB. It would be good to know if the position is set, or needs help. We also need to see what Mayes has. Williams is perfectly mediocre.

Jamaal Williams is running great he's running hard and he's getting yards I don't know what you're talking about mean Aaron Jones maybe a little quicker but I do think they're a good combination

I agree with you 100% the guys averaging 5 yards per carry and Williams is averaging 3.4 yards per carry but somehow Williams is the starter

Aaron Jones has 81 carries for 448 avg 5.5 yards per carry and five touchdowns Jamaal Williams has 131 carries for 474 yards avg 3.6 yards per carry and five touchdowns so you tell me which running backs better

jamaal Williams is the better running back he wears a defense down with his hard running and is always consistently getting the yardage. Aaron Jones just get some big runs don't get me wrong I like Jones but Jamaal Williams is a better running back although I do like it that both of them can catch the ball pretty good also

Jones injured his other knee against Minn. Doubt we will see him unless every RB goes down Sunday.

Gilbert. We desperately need help at OLB and he played better yesterday than Perry has in a 8 weeks.

I thought Michael Clarke played really good I mean you could tell that the quarterbacks were overthrowing the wide receivers because the cold had slowed the wide receivers down so I can't fault any of the wide receivers on the Deep throws and the one that Michael Clarke missed for a touchdown he said the lights got in his eyes as you could see he was trying to pull the ball in when it wasn't there.

The cold throws should have slowed the ball and the defenders down too. The lights got in Clark’s eyes? I blame management for allowing such poor lighting design and placement. I guess Huntley was good enough in your estimation to win the game? You spelled Michael correctly, but you add an “e” to Clark twice? You use an apostrophe in “wasn’t”, but you can’t make a 76 word sentence into three or four shorter ones?

If you watch the game you will see that on both teams the ball was being over thrown because of the poor field contditions=timing. Did you not hear Chris Collingsworth say this ay least 2x. Yes the game was winnable and Callahan would have won us the game. CLARK,CLARK,CLARK,CLARK,CLARK,CLARK.
Are you happy now? You don't even like the guy.
It is home field advantage for a reason and one reason is the middle of the field should not look like a sewer of sludge. Lighting. Well if lighting was a factor than the Packers should know about it and not the vikings. They should know every inch of that field. Which are best parts and which are the worst parts and which route to run based on the cleats you are wearing or should wear that your defender is not wearing . If you dont take in account every aspect of the game then you do not need to be a coach for the green bay packers. Its funny how you very particular attention to my punctuation and grammar but you are not paying attention to the details of the game.

Tell it to the kicker who kicked a 49-yard field goal in the cold on the Vikings it didn't slow his kicking down 30 degree weather

I am willing to see what Michael Clarke has, but really, it looked to me like he alligator-armed that ball in the end-zone.....and if that is true, then that's all I need to see. Again, let's see how he performs over his next few games (against the Lions this season, and early next season), but so far, to me, he is a major red-flag and I do not expect much from this basketball-player-turned-receiver. The Packers have enough "athletes"......what they need are football players.

The time that these quarterbacks have to throw is ridiculous we have no pass rush we do okay when the running backs run up the middle all defensive line is fairly good it when the running backs try to run outside they usually make the corner we are too slow.

Maybe this is heresy, but I’d like to see MM move on. It seems clear ARod has been restarted with him for a while now, and his coaching alone has cost some games.

Less controversial is to finally get rid of DC. They need new blood, younger blood at DC and Don ain’t it. Likewise, they need a real OC, not Edgar Bennett carrying around a clip chart for MM.

And as for TT, he has failed. A once-in-a-lifetime talent like 12 should have more SB rings, but he can’t fo it alone. And IMHO, Hundley is not qualified to play backup in the league, maybe 3rd string.

Where does that leave us? I’d like to see MM and his coaches fired, promote Wolf to GM before he gets stolen, and bring in a HC with some smarts and ENERGY. Yeah I’m talking about Chucky.

ARod has 5 years left, give or take. We will not get another SB out of this GM and coaching staff. A lot of people, Gruden included, would die to come to GB while 12 is still there. A lot of pieces are in place, we need someone to fill the gaps. C’mon Murphy, get it together while 12 is still suiting up.

I looking forward to watching a new young GM and new young DC hold their first press conference. Would like a new Head coach as well, but I’ll settle for 2 out of 3. Bring on the offseason... Man, there better be some major changes

When there is an obvious more talented player in the wings they rarely recogniz and act on it. It’s time for a complete overhaul I mean EVERYONE wants it!! Why won’t the BOD listen??? Maybe just maybe black Monday is a good day!!!

Let's see more of Gilbert, Byrd and Callahan for sure and some of Mays. MM says it's not pre-season and he's only interested in winning...well? Gilbert had more pressures and showed more of a pass rush than Perry; Kendricks dropped more passes than he caught and Byrd should be tried--he can't be worse. Finally, Hundley's completion percentage and WL record is subpar so let Callahan show if he's a keeper or not. As far as Mays, past fumbles need to be validated or forgotten and Pack needs to verify if Mays can deliver in 2018.

Zach, your question begs a far larger one. How does the Green Bay Packers develop their young players with in the restrictions of the CBA and very short OTA/ training camp cycles. It is a far bigger problem, that some teams around the league now only are beginning to understand.

I want to see more of Michael Clarke and more of the ball thrown a little bit higher so he can jump up and bring it down that way we maximize his 6 ft 6 height with a 35 inch vertical jump

Gilbert-Mays, sounds like a jazz singer put them in maybe they can make some music. I see potential in those two plus they are two picks without an injury history something that boggles my mind about Ted and his picks. He keeps picking these guys and they continue to deliver. It happened again this year, in spades. When will Mr. Thomson ever learn, since he was raised a farm boy, maybe when the cows come home.

I really thought we had a promising season man it looks so good on paper but I knew our downfall again would be our defense with Dom Capers. I wasn't expecting Rodgers to go out and then the whole Martellus Bennett scandal and I really thought Ty Montgomery was our number one back he's probably just a number 3 if that now. Lastly, I really wanted to see more of Geronimo Allison this year and McCarthy barely played him except at the end of the year but then expect them to be so good without even playing him. I truly believe that if MM would have played Geronimo Allison during the year and got some good game time and taken some hits he wouldn't have fumbled at the end of the Carolina game. Oh well one more game left and then we have to to start all over again in 2018.
