Packers Question of the day - Who to Watch vs the Colts?

The Packers will return to their sacred home of Lambeau Field to welcome the Colts from Indianapolis, who haven't visited the stadium since 2008. More commonly known as Aaron Rodgers' rookie year.

Still with a stagnant ground game that refuses to get off said ground, the aerial assault engineered by Rodgers against the Falcons last week provided a glimmer of hope in production moving forward.

Meanwhile, the team as a collective whole continues the ongoing fight against health, still trying to fight off the injury bug. They'll welcome in the Colts' speedy wide receiver group with a battered secondary. However, they may be doing so with Quinten Rollins for the first time since week five.

Who will be your players to watch against the Colts on Sunday?

I sure hope Rollins can play as Goodson (after finally playing well) is now in concussion protocol! Player to watch is if (shudder) Barclay is in at guard can Linsley cover for him?

I always watch Adams. The microscope is still on high! Rollins, Perry, Martinez, Burnett low.

Perry. I always felt like he was screwed that time he absolutely crushed Luck and caused a fumble only to be called for roughing the passer...which was total horses#$+. And then he got injured shortly thereafter. It was that play I could feel his potential and substance. He got derailed by injury after injury and was scrutinized by many as being a bust. Now his game is absolutely what I thought he could be. Redemption time against the colts....that cost him a few years of development. BTW: Walden has six sacks this year for the Colts.....wtf????

That was a "Picture Perfect" Sack, a thing of Beauty. I couldn't believe they threw a flag on that play.

I also want to say....I love this team. Adversity seems to always pull the Pack together. You got McCarthy calling Quinten Rollins "Q". You got Lacy hanging out in the RB meetings offering wsidom. You got guys that can't wait to prove their young worth. You got Cook eager to play with AR. You got all kinds of guys coming back as the season wears on. Next man up mentality is alive and well. All kinds of valuable reps for Rookies and second year players. By the time December is here, our entire roster will be full of veterans and essentially no "Rookies". The offense seems to have found its way and the confidence to move the ball at will. Keep the arrow pointing up!!! GPG.

No and No to the questions.
It's more likely that the opponent will commit the fatal error that lets our offense or defense score or defend to garner a win.

I think you're splitting hairs, Taryn. If the opposition makes a fatal error, the Packers still need to take advantage of it. Strictly a matter of perspective.

That's too black and white for me COW. My excitement of football stems from the fact that is too unpredictable. If it wasn't...... I wouldn't bother watching. I prefer games that come down to the wire regardless of what it looks like on paper. It could be one play that makes the entire difference. That's why I can't stop watching. It just so happens...the ball didn't bounce our way the last four out of five years. Does it affect me? Hardly. I'm entertained.

By your logic, we shouldn't have bothered going to Arizona last year. You and Taryn are both downers. Why bother watching.

1. Yes for offense.
2.Maybe for the defense even though the defense has done it once this year, Dom tends to sit back and let them pick em apart hoping for the clock to run out.

It completely depends which teams shows up. If you remember the 2010 team, they weren't lighting people up offensively much in the beginning of the year. Grant was hurt in the 2nd quarter of week one, Finley week 5. They lost consecutive games early to the Redskins and Miami and the injuries kept coming. They righted the ship when it mattered and won. Same with the Giants...TWICE, and the Ravens too. Matter of fact Wild Card teams were the teams winning the SB most years for a while.

The point is Cow, you just never know.

Well, more dominant than the Packers Defense that's for sure. But the 2012 Ravens and 2007 and 2011 Giants weren't "Dominating" Defenses, not like the the Ravens first SB winning team for example. THAT was a dominating Defense.

If they were THAT dominating they wouldn't have been 4th or 5th seeds, at least those teams because they did have offenses.

'Adversity seems to always pull the Pack together. '

It really makes McCarthy become less predictable, and forces him to have to change the offense. At least it has this year.

This year McCarthy really has adapted the offense to fit its personnel. What this has done, is it has made Rodgers return to form.

By being forced to play a lot of these young players now it will give them the experience to be ready late in the year.

I really like where the team is right now. Get some of the players back from injury and it will really help.

But the Pack doesn't have any play-makers, and you need at least one or two to be a contender

Watch Aaron Rodgers, D. Adams, Datone Jones, and whoever plays center for the Pack. I hope the special teams find their groove again. I'll be watching to see if they can help with field position.

I'll be watching for Martinez and Ryan to bounce back, especially Martinez. He has GOT to stop biting on the play action fakes. He was late reacting to a lot of plays last week and not as good in coverage. If they struggle, I want Joe Thomas to get more snaps.

Yes, to all of that, Rossonero, especially more snaps for Joe Thomas, if appropriate. Frank Gore doesn't scare anyone.

Watch the entire DL. They need to get to Luck early & often. Luck is going to test the depleted Packers secondary and will do so all day long if the DL fails to disrupt Luck. The DL is critical to the game IMO. Don Capers also needs to hit the Colts with some blitz packages early & often. Go Packers!

I would like to see two things and both are on the defensive side of the ball. The Packer's front seven need to pound the run / pressure from the middle along with staying in the passing lanes in those short drops. The safties have to make a difference in the passing game. Interceptions and fumbles need to be the words of the day.

A loss which won't happen would not eliminate the Packers from the post season , now that COW and Taryn's Vikings have turned back into the Vikings they will be even more negative knowing that the Packers will win the North again.

I agree 100%, Cow. What I CAN'T understand is that most Packers fans just don't understand that, Apart from Rodgers, who has also become mediocre, our talent is average at best. In spite of all the hype surrounding HHCD, Rollins & Randall, PFFsays they are below average!! They are NOT stars in anybody's mind except Packer fans!!!

Cow you've actually been making some comments the last few weeks that have a lot of truth to them BUT the last 2 days you're back to taking the Negative Tablets again.

The Vikings Offense is anemic and the O-Line is on par with Indy's. The Vikings do have an excellent Defense but teams are wise to the Vikings and what they've been doing offensively. 5 Games of tape out there now and you can only do so much with Diggs.

Norv Turner bailed because Zimmer started to try and poke his nose in the Offense and tell Turner what to do. Turner knew this Offense and he understood Bradford is still Bradford.

9 games is a lot of games and the Vikings still have to play in Green Bay. If the Packers beat the Vikings in Green Bay and handles the rest of the division games there's ONE game left to make up. If that's made up the Packers would win the division based on Division record. Lots of "If's" for BOTH Teams. Don't "Blow your Horn" before it's time to blow.

I want to see a Ha Ha pick on a deep ball. Take away your deep half this week! No other way to slice it, this comes down to the depleted secondary holding up.

Get used to the fact that he won't be able to get an interception in your lifetime unless the ball deflects into his hands and even that is not a sure thing. How many career interceptions does he have? There are so many, I have lost count~~~~~~
