Even if Bennett didn't knowingly fail to disclose an injury, it seems pretty clear he did knowingly try to screw GB over. He signed the nice contract, but right from the start he obviously wasn't in it. There is no way he ever intended to give the Packers their money's worth.

For the Packers the question is whats next?
What roster move do they make? They have 2 open rosters spots with Bulaga going to IR and now Bennett released.
Do they bring up a WR? They have 3 of them (Clark, Yancey, McCaffrey). Do they bring up Kerridge? Do they bring up Gilbert? One spot might be saved for Spriggs.

Considering A Rod is on the shelf for the rest of the season I wouldn't think it would be fair to say that signing M Bennett was a bust! There is just a small body of work to judge him by. Four games played with A Rod were pretty sub par but I at least I think he would have been able to make a few big plays with A Rodgers at the helm. I never cared for him, he's a classic head case just like his brother and I'm glad Ted Thompson gave him the Das Boot! This will clear up some Cap Space so there is some good that will come out of this.

When he signed, i let myself get caught up in the hype. In hindsight, it was easy to see that signing Bennett was a mistake. I'm glad to see the Packers have admitted to the mistake and cut ties.

There is widespread speculation the Packers will go after the pro-rated portion of his SB. I hope they get it back. Otherwise there is a $4.2 mil dead money hit on the books for 2018. That's not a crippling number but more than what Evans, House and Brooks got for their 1 yr deals this year.

You can't blame TT for signing Bennett. It looked like a good fit, based on his performance the previous couple of years and the Packer's need for some blocking ability at the position. Just one of those that didn't pan out. I'm hoping that the Ravens don't resign Crockett Gilmore (on IR with an ACL), and GB can get him at a much cheaper price than Bennett. He's very similar in size and speed to Bennett, and a very capable blocker and pass catcher. I've followed him since his high school days, and the man is all football player.

I'm sure I'm alone here, but I really hope McCapers does something bold with this last roster spot (Spriggs will take Bulaga's spot).

It's time to activate Michael Clark.

First, we have few redzone threats, and that's Clark's specialty.

Second, we'll release either Jordy or Randall after the season (perhaps both, with their salaries), and the next 8 games provide a great opportunity to see how Clark develops.

Third, Clark provides a unique dimension; a huge target for our struggling QB. He certainly couldn't be worse than Bennett--you can't fall off the floor.

C'mon McCapers, do something exciting for once. Strike some fear into 5'11" CB's. This season is over, so don't wait until Week 14 to start seeing what we have.

To miss so badly on Bennett is troubling. From an organizational standpoint, we are not drafting well, we are not using FA well and we are net losing talent each year. Having Ted Thompson sitting in bleachers for the college season is not helping this team on any front.

So Bennett is gone because that smell got bad but I think the rot still exists.

Seemed like a good idea at the time - he contributes to New England's super bowl season - he can bring positive attitude and skills to GB.

Another great move by Ted Thompson the incompetence of this organization is mind blowing.
1. At the end of last year mike mcarthy screwed the packers for the 2017 _ 2018 seas on by resigning Dom Capers intead of firing him.
2. Packers also went and spent the 1st 4 rounds on defense just to satisfy once again Dom caperd when former green bay def players are having now having steller seasons j.pepper 7.5 sacks,micah hyde,casey hayward.
3. Mcarthy lies when he says he has complete confidence in Brett Hundley as he won't even let him pass beyond the line of scrimmage. Mcarthy has been hiding behind aaron rogers coat tails and brett favre coat tail for years. Unbelievable so predictable 4th and 2 bubble screen to r.cobb for a loss. The detroit safety came running 10 yards deep to throw cobb for a loss.. tony romo explained this play on full detail when you used the same play against the saints. Pathetic.

If TT is really off the deep end in ability that he had to go to this level of desperation on a high risk player, the Packers may be in deep, deep trouble when you couple it with the fact they have an old, senile Def Coordinator as well. Bad times in GB, and a disaster of a season.

As for that opinion on Bennett, to me its just one more example of Albino Ted's incompetence. Jared Cook was "money" towards the end of last year and TT basically kicked him to the curb to sign Bennett And then, if McPuffy had anything to do with it then give him equal blame.
We have seen in recent weeks the talent Ted has assembled, it ain't pretty, and McPuffy's insistence on keeping Dom DeLuise Capers employed hasn't helped in using what talent is there. There's plenty of stupidity to go around, the defense has not been WAF since 2010!
Clean house! If Murphy doesn't have the balls to dump Albino Ted then it's time to dump Murphy and start over. Bob Harlan was never satisfied with making a first round exit from the play-offs while Murphy and Thompson appear to be.
