Packers promoting TE Evan Baylis to 53 man roster
The well traveled tight end will provide some depth at the position.
By PackerAaron
With starting tight end Jimmy Graham dealing with a groin injury, the Packers are adding some depth to the position.
The #Packers will be bringing up tight end Evan Baylis off the practice squad for this week. Tight end Jimmy Graham would not have practiced yesterday with a groin injury, had they indeed practiced.

Baylis, who is on his fourth NFL team, had a decent camp and preseason. He will work behind long time veteran Marcedes Lewis and second year player Robert Tonyan, if Graham is unable to go this Sunday when the Denver Broncos visit Lambeau Field.

At 3 receptions for 30 yards on the season, the Packers certainly aren't getting the return on their $12.7 investment for Jimmy Graham this year. Hopefully Baylis, Tonyan & Lewis can step up and provide some production from the TE position. Next year they can use Graham's salary cap space to help re-sign Clark & Martinez.

You forget that he caught the only touchdown in Week 1. Without him, me might have lost that game.
So after 2 games he has one TD... that's better than most of our WR's.
Just sayin'

I read somewhere that Baylis is a good blocker. That would be nice for MLFs run game plan. He also likes to use the TE a lot in formations. I decided not to fuss about Graham living up to his contract and instead focus on who we actually have.

I like Baylis, he is a good size kid, decent and Willing blocker, good hands with ok speed. He also plays special teams. I figured they would bring him up with Jimmy Graham nursing a groin injury. He has been making plays all camp long and was mentioned by Aaron Rodgers is a sneaky good player

I wouldn’t mind jimmy being out and Tonyan and Lewis finally getting some actual opportunities.

You guys all are hammering Jimmy... but without him catching the ONLY TD we had in Week 1, we might have lost that game. 1 TD in 2 games is pretty good for any TE in the league...
Hell he has more TD's on the season than Adams...
Don't be such haters... c'mon

I just think Graham is too old. I keep hoping he returns to his old form, but he’s too inconsistent and often injured.

Tonyan Time!!!!
I know it's a new system and for some reason J. Graham has struggled with it. I get it. Even Roger's is wearing a play armband, but with all that being said, Jimmy G. is slowly running out if time with the Packers.
