Packers Offensive Line Hurting Heading Into Showdown With Detroit

Packers Offensive Line Hurting Heading Into Showdown With Detroit

As if the Packers don't have enough to worry about it.

JC Tretter, who did not appear on the injury report on either Monday or Tuesday, was added to it on Wednesday with an ankle injury.

The o-line walking wounded heading into Detroit are as follows:

T.J. Lang (shoulder) - Questionable

J.C. Tretter (ankle) - Questionabke

Corey Linsley (ankle) - Questionable

Bryan Bulaga (knee) - Questionable

Josh Sitton (back) - Probable

Going to be a fun one in Detroit on Thursday night. You know, where the Packers offensive line has traditionally struggled even when fully healthy.

Good times, good times.

Man. All I can do anymore is just shake my head and go, "Well, I hope it works out somehow."

Walker, Tretter, and Barclay have fared better than the starters in their time anyway. Neither if the bookend tackles have been healthy all year anyway. These guys have either been hurt since week 6 or just started sucking. Even when the line is playing well QB 1 has his eyes on the rush instead of his first 2 reads and the only time something positive happens is when the defense jumps off sides or the back yard ball broken play works with Jones. GOD FORBID you hit a hot read!! Clunky offense is ugly football and that side of the ball sucks!!!

jeremyjjbrown's picture

I expect no fewer then 4 arthroscopic surgeries for this group once the season is done.

Tarynfor12's picture

I guess the defending of a possible or likely loss needed more excuse support and they opted for the Trettor ankle.

We are all dumber for having read this.

It was sarcasm but getting dumber is all on you for your lacking to get it.

ray nichkee's picture

Your sarcasm is hard to see when every comment is buried with negativity.

The saddest commentary here is that Bakhthiari, our worst OL, is the only one not on the injury report. Thanks, Since '61

Tundraboy's picture

Now that you pointed that out, oh God help us.

zoellner25's picture

Maybe our WRs should play O-line

jeremyjjbrown's picture

They'd have to be too close to the football.

As the season has progressed, it looks to me that Barclay is improving in spot duty. Maybe needed to shake-off the rust.

Looks like Ansah is the by far the Lions biggest threat on the line. Keep Kuhn in to chip on him.

Arod can help the o-line by staying in the pocket. When he gets happy feet, things haven't gone well lately. And if ARod insists on throwing dirt-balls, do it intentionally when there's nothing there. Live another day.

And since when are ankle injuries like influenza? I had no idea they were contagious.

It would be huge if C. Johnson is limited for Detroit. But then I thought the Packers caught a break with Bennett out for the Bears last week and we still lost.

DrealynWilliams's picture

Watch this be a game where we dominate. Weird.

Tundraboy's picture

I'll gladly take the weird for a change.

Proving it again. You put down everything there is about the Packers, right down to the announcers. You are a fucking troll, hands down, no doubt about it. You couldn't be found at 6-0.
How about an online petition. All in favor of banning the troll know as cow, say I

Whoa, hang on! Ok, I think I'm fine.

Cow is just starting to spill his guts and admit he is not superhuman but in fact a flawed human himself. Gut check cow-its a game! I know a good sports psychiatrist if you want her number. I feel like handing you a tissue but then I think about how you love to piss in everybody's Cheerios.

Razer's picture

I am getting the same vibe from Rodgers as well. When things are going wrong, we don't need Cutler showing up. Start playing better and most of this stuff will go away.

4thand1's picture

STFP already. I was watching the Packers when you were still swimming in yer old man's balls.

Cow, I have a bounty on your scrotum. My neighbor's dog needs a new medicine pouch. What kind of coward brings in wayne larrivee into this? You just honored your status as whipping boy here. At least the packers can get better, you can just go away.

omega's picture

Not sure if this is a must-win game, but it sure feels that way.

Backs are against the wall now, guys. This could be a fun (but frustrating) game to watch. Bring it on.

30-13 game, flip a coin for which team scores what. Either way, Go Pack Go!

All these injuries, Peppers getting old - do not bode well for next year.

Jersey Al's picture

you're already looking to next year?

John Galt III's picture

Why not. No question that managers, coaches and scouts do. Ron Wolfe knew this is chess. It ain't checkers.

Cowpie, twat do you do to entertain yourself when the packers win?

zoellner25's picture

Wait, I got it. McCarthy, Van Pelt, Trgovac, Moss, and Fontenot suit up and play OL.

omega's picture

Maybe suit up Kevin Greene at LB too..

EdsLaces's picture

Kevin peaced out last year.

Packer_Pete's picture

Actually McCarthy would be hard to move for any opposing DL LOL

Have any of you seen the most recent X's & O's video w/Tom Silverstein and LeRoy Butler?

Pretty much confirmed everything I've been saying.

PLEEEEEASE give it a watch and come back and try to blame the coaches again.

DrealynWilliams's picture

LMAO!!!!!!! times infinity!

4thand1's picture

That particular play made me scream at the TV. I remember it like it was 10 seconds ago. I yelled throw the fuckin thing away if no one is open. That play was totaly on Rodgers, I'll admit. Unless he was looking for Cobb to break outside and he didn't. By then the safety was breaking on JJ and Janis was one on one with Porter. He should have just chucked it downfield.

DrealynWilliams's picture

James Jones couldn't get more open than what he was. That should have been a huge play.

4thand1's picture

Yes I know JJ was open, WTF, I don't get it. Its not like he hasn't targeted JJ this year. He's always pulled the trigger on plays like that. And to take the sack after 8 MutherFin seconds?

DrealynWilliams's picture

Yea, that's crazy.

But plays like that have some people questioning play calling which isn't right. Like,"How come quicker pass plays aren't called instead" - when there's evidence like that play that proves play calling isn't the issue.

Ezekiel "Ziggy" Ansah is licking his chops. He was a terror to watch on Turkey Day, and I think we'll see an encore performance tonight...

DrealynWilliams's picture

You'd like that, wouldn't you?

D Ernesto's picture

I honestly have the Lions winning tonight and it has nothing to do with a healthy or unhealthy O line. Still after three freekin years has to do with a piss poor pass defense.
Teams aren't running against us because they don't have to. Thus, our D line actually has decent numbers. My take is Capers has our dbacks playing off receivers because they lack the speed and quickness to play man and actually cover them. Especially the ones who are 6'3 or taller.
We all saw the Chicago game, every time they needed to make a big third down conversion they did by passing the ball to wide open receivers. Nothing new to see here.
The problem is now, our offense usually came back and scored to keep the pack in the games. Now without an adequate receiving core, the passing game is in the tank and so is this team.
I have the Lions by 17.

D Ernesto's picture

Better get serious about bringing in a conditioning guy who knows what the hell he or she is doing. I still think this team is over weight and out of shape.
I thought Janis was supposed to be fast but he was easily covered going down the sidelines and looked so so speed wise. He also looked heavy.
