Packers Make Loyce Means Signing Official

After having been previously reported that the Packers would sign street free agent cornerback Loyce Means pending a physical, general manager Ted Thompson made the transaction official on Tuesday.

Means, a 5-foot-10, 188-pound first-year player out of the University of Houston, entered the league as a non-drafted free agent with the Buffalo Bills in July 2011 and was with the team that preseason. Following his release by the Bills, he went on to play for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League in 2011.

Means appeared in 38 games during his career (2007-10) at Houston and posted 85 tackles (53 solo), eight interceptions for 238 return yards (29.8 avg.) and two TDs, and 21 passes defensed.

Hope he is fast with long arms otherwise he won't make it past the first cut. When are the Packers going to learn all the receivers are like 6'2 to 6'6. These 5'10 guys are too short to play the position but we seem to be grabbing them all up and have a shelf full of them now.
Oh, I forgot, its because they are available cheap because our NFC foes passed on them for the hard hitting 6'1 D backs.
