Packers Hold Their Breath On Jenkins' Injury

Cullen Jenkins left the game after re-aggravating the calf injury that has been bothering him.

Asked about Cullen Jenkins' calf strain after the game, McCarthy said the following:

You really don’t know until tomorrow. Anytime you have a strain, particularly of a muscle, it’s the same one that he’s strained in the past, so that’s the concern there. We’ll have more information for you tomorrow.

Now, I am not overtly fluent in McCarthyese, but its never a good sign when he uses the word "concern", though we are lucky we didn't hear the "They're sure to put him on I.R." word "significant".

Packer fans can only hope Jenkins only misses one game or even is back on a limited basis next week.  He was having his best game of the year rushing the passer with two sacks and several QB hits. Since getting the cast off his hand he has really come alive, getting quick inside pressure by using his impressive first step coupled with a nasty rip move that got him into the 49ers backfield more than once.

Would not surprise me if they keep him out of the Lions game. And I am okay with that, need him healthy for the Pats game and the two home games.

It's a real bummer that it happened with less than 2 minutes left in the game. I realize you can't sub for everybody when the game is out of reach. However, I'm not sure there's anything wrong with subbing for you real good players who have had lingering injuries all year.

it was a mistake to have him in the game.

he will be out for the season (that's the kind of year it's been).

NEXT MAN UP!

i say instead of starting wilson, throw green in at the nose and slide raji over to end. wilson can rotate in to keep everyone fresh.

Jenkins should have been in the good,he was all over the place against the 49ers.

He is key in making that 3-4 defense work, and one of those players we really don't have a replacement for.

Without him, Capers changes his defensive game plan.

Two minutes left, up by three scores; I don't see the reason for him to be in. That being said, Raji has had alot of snaps this year, and he will change our game plan even more than jenkins.

Guess it doesn't matter, other than Wilson could be taking some of these snaps; he's been a pleasant but inconsistent surprise.

This is when I really wish Mike Neal had not gotten hurt.

Well yeah, I wish he never did. But if Jenkins is out for a long period of time, then he would be even more important to have.

Amen. That kid is just a beast. Does anyone think had we not lost who we lost we would be undefeated? I mean, 4 games by a FG... I tend to think we win those with Neal, Finley, Grant and Matthews (oh wait...).

On a side note, New England's Offense is looking pretty tight right now,For some reason I can see us having more points as the clock hits zero though. Maybe that's just because I'm a homer.

No. No way.

We've had too much bad luck, and the Bears have had too much good luck (just look at last game, 3rd string QB, worst personal fault call of all time).

This won't happen. Jenkins will miss no more than one game.

Didn't he injure that goofing around in pregame warmups? I heard he was kicking field goals or something.
