...Kiper has four QBs, one OT, Quenton Nelson (a guard that Green Bay could plug in at RG for the next decade, but won't be around for them to pick), and Saquon Barkley gone before the Packers pick. That's seven players that Green Bay wasn't going to draft anyway...

I like this availability logic when viewing the draft and our 14th pick. There should be a real stud come our selection. This is Gutenkunst first pick and I am hoping his tenure starts out well.

Ultimately, I would like to see a solid corner, stud pass rusher and another collapse the pocket big man come out of this draft for the Packers. After that, sprinkle in a good TE and O-line depth. Beyond that, make sure the rest of the picks are fast and trainable.

Vita Vea. Please. Our D-line would be amazing. None of the edge rushers that'll be sitting there at 14 are better than him.

OK - Were good at QB. Cross them Off. TE. - Not good enough for any in the top two rounds. Cross them off. Re address this 3rd Comps.(MAYBE) Rb- Cross them off. To many other BPAs needed. Wr.= Gallop has trouble locating the deeper pass. Cross them off. These are the two I would draft later: 1. DJ CHAULK 2. Daurice Fountain . Both will be perfect replacements given time. ( 3 rd Picks) I don't believe any OL will be taken. He must be a steal and BPA like Bulaga. Cross them off and draft the OLs in the 4th. That leaves Defense. DE's To small with the exception of Davenport. He's not a pass rusher but does have a bull rush. Cross DEs off. CBS. BPA ONLY HERE. BUT I WOULD TAKE DERWIN JAMES FIRST. STILL CROSS THEM OFF. Right now I would take Phillps and Vita before Davenport. Doubt packers will draft either. But would love Vita! ( No ? marks here.) Just a Football player. Last LBs. This is where the packers should draft from your list. 1 OLB and 1 ILB/OLB! Edmunds is the #1 pure OLB. Key and Landry have issues. I want the sure Football Player. Take Edmunds. Rd. 1 Smith should be gone. Evans, and Jefferson I would not CROSS OFF! For the 2nd rd. (Even ESCH. )

I don't think you can list any position as one that's off the board. If Baker Mayfield is there at 14, and he's the BPA on your board, then you have to consider taking him. Farve was the same age as Rodgers is currently when we drafted that QB out of Cal. The patriots just traded away a young franchise QB to protect their aging current one. I'd love a first round pick that contributes his first year just as much as anyone, but you always have to look at the future as well. That said, I doubt there will be a QB worth taking at 14.

There's no TE's I've seen that I would take at 14. Barkley's the only RB I would, and no way does he fall to us. In my opinion, the best WR in draft (Anthony Miller) is projected to go on day 2, so we might be able to snag him in the second. On defense, I'd stay away from Jackson. Great ball skills, but he's soft in coverage, and sucks at tackling. Denzel Ward is the CB you want at 14. Otherwise, I like Tremaine Edmunds, Derwin James, and maybe Harold Landry at 14 as versatile options.

At 14 look at the best corner and best pass rusher then take the best of the two. Instant improvement .

The underwear league is going to be real interesting this year. The way they're talking up M Davenport, he may go in the top 5. Gute should work out a deal with Cleveland for their #4 pick. lets get a stud, and I'm not saying Davenport, but Chubb would be fantastic. No matter what we are in nice shape.

One thing I want to say is that I'm a lot higher on ILB being a need than most people seem to be. Martinez is decent, but I feel like a player like Edmunds could change the attitude and the shape of an entire defense. I know it's not as valued a position, especially in a 34, and especially in the halls of 1265 Lombardi, but Edmunds is a player I seem to value a lot higher than most. He can cover & rush the passer. I really think he's in the mold of those great San Fran LBers from a few years back. That soft middle of the GB defense would be over.

There's a few prospects I'd take ahead of him at 14:
Bradley Chubb, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Josh Jackson, Derwin James, Denzel Ward, Harold Landry, Mike Hughes

but he'd be right there after those guys, for me.

Agree as well. I actually think he'll be even better this year, but if he goes down, the rest of the ILB corps is a mess currently. I was pretty lukewarm on Edmunds at first, but I've come to like the idea more as I thought about it. He has a lot of upside, and is versatile enough that you're almost drafting two players with one pick.

ILB didn't seem to be valued by TT when he was calling the shots. We'll see what Gutekunst thinks...

I'm with ya. I like Tremaine Edmunds too. Would like to see him taken at 14. I like Denzel Ward too, but I think Edmunds would be a difference maker. Unfortunately, two teams (Raiders and Dolphins) are picking ahead of us and both have LB needs in a big way.

A statement regarding Landry and supposed weakness pertaining to defending the run.

Landry was a liability versus the run against the Fighting Irish, recording only one tackle while Notre Dame ran for seven touchdowns and had two players exceed 200 yards rushing. On the vast majority of his plays, Landry went against a freshman right tackle, yet was ineffective. Landry also lost his few reps against Mike McGlinchey, plus got rag dolled by Quenton Nelson. It was an ugly performance for Landry. He was slightly better against Clemson.

Chubb, Barkley, Fitzpatrick, Nelson, JJ, James, Ward, Vea, Edmunds, Smith, Davenport.. In that order one of those guys will be wearing Green and Gold. Too many QBs will go in the first 10 leaving Green Bay in good shape for their pick.

Of course with TT the trade back was always a concern, but not sure about Gutsey. I didn't put Ridley very high. I just think there are really good receivers (IMHO) that can be gotten in rounds 2-3.

Green Bay needs a TE this draft...I hope they can land one.

The combine is going to be really interesting at the WR position. Lots is going to change after Indy. Auden Tate may be the top WR prospect if he runs better than expected. 6'5 225. Throw him out there with Michael Clark, Davante, and Ty Montgomery and we're having some fun.

Our WR cupboard is full of expired or near expiring goods. I like Michael Clark and it'll be interesting to see Philbin's ideas regarding Montgomery, but I really want speed. It's shocking we've gone so many years without it. It's time to have a WR1 who runs away from people. Davante isn't close to being that guy and I refuse to believe there is any scenario under which we trot him out as our long term WR1 solution.

Josh Jackson terrifies me. We need game changers up in Round 1 and rarely get them. We take these underwhelming defensive players year after year.

I'd prefer Mayfield at 14 to Jackson but no way he's there. I believe a feeding frenzy is going to happen right in front of us on QBs.

Hoping we get guys like Lamar Jackson,a Sony Michel, Auden Tate in Round 2...these guys make things happen. I doubt Tate makes it this far but is the type of player I'd like. Tangible difference makers, potentially.

6 straight drafts where D was our top pick. Only 3 times since Aaron Rodgers have we taken O...Bulaga, Jordy and Sherrod. The biggest game changer from our top pick outside of 12 is Clay Matthews. We have to do better.

greetings Ross. i take comfort in knowing that amateur GMs and media people tend to miss on many of their draft rankings.. understandably, given that there are so many variables to consider.

when i watch their respective videos, i don't notice a significant talent difference between Josh Jackson and Isaiah Oliver, your #32 ranked player. Oliver is half a year younger and possibly a better fit for the Packers press coverage scheme. that said, i see Jackson as a draft target too.

i hope that you consider adding the following receivers to your list:

Why do people mock Denzel Ward to the Packers? Is he not 5'10"? I have a hard time seeing Green Bay taking him in rd. 1 since he does not fit their height requirement. Also Is not the UTEP guard the wrong type of player for Green Bay's O-line scheme? I have done a lot of these mock drafts of late and I have noted a few things. If you want to get a decent day 3 Offensive Tackle or guard you will probably have to draft one at least a round earlier than they should be. I was targeting to have OT in round 5, but it seems like they will have to be chosen in Rd. 4 to get a decent one like Alex Cappa, or Brandon Parker. I like many want an OLB or edge rusher in rd. 1-2, WR or TE in rds. 2-3, and a CB in Rds. 1-3. I often end up with two TEs or CBs when I do a 5 rd draft. The draft board seems to fall that way. Your thoughts?

We still have no idea what we REALLY have at CB. No pass rush. No TE. The slowest WR group in the NFL. No right side of the O-Line to protect one of the two assets we do have.

Little bewildering that Isiah Wynn didn't make your list in the same area as William Hernandez. I get it that this is a GB draft board and in GB Wynn is a stud LG. Best feet in this OL class!!

I would like to see Donte Moncrief WR Colts in the Green and Gold and Trey Burton TE Eagles.

It is not often you get a shot at a top 1 or 2 WR in a draft to go along with an AR type QB. I go for that in round 1. Paired with Adams wide, with Jordy and/or Cobb in the slot and this team is insanely scary. It also sets the table long term for when Jordy and Cobb are no longer viable and gives a top shelf corps to whoever replaces AR in the future.

This is too good to pass up even though we DO need better pass rush. I think with just the guys on D we have now our new DC will get more out of them and thus improve the D even before draft picks or FAs.

How many SBs would we have if we drafted a receiver like Megatron to go with AR?

Really there's too many holes to fill reliably via the draft.

Best would be to free up the cash, target some FA's at positions of need, then hit Draft after this knowing that there's decent positional depth (or a need in the event of a whiff at FA), allowing the mindset of developing via a BPA Draft technique.

With so many perceived holes in the roster, I can't see Jordy/Randall/CM3 and/or Brian Bulaga surviving with their current contracts in place.
