Packers Daily Links: Some Reggie Bush Speculation

Over at ESPN.com, some analysis is shared regarding Reggie Bush and possibility of signing with Green Bay in free agency. That and more in today's Daily Links...

Over at ESPN.com, NFC North blogger Kevin Seifert shares some analysis from former NFL executive Bill Polian and Pro Football Focus' Khaled Elsayed on free agent running back Reggie Bush and his potential to join the Green Bay Packers. "It's true that a player of Bush's receiving skills would be productive in the Packers' offense," writes Seifert. "But what would help the team more, in terms of balance, is a physical running back who can move piles and get yardage on his own. Bush will never fit that description." Bush will no longer command a huge, exorbitant contract, but it's difficult to see the Packers meeting his demands with the money that will be owed to players like Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews coming up.

More on Aaron Rodgers' contract situation comes in a blog post from Kevin Seifert at ESPN.com.

Speaking of free agency, in an interview with NFL Network, analyst Ian Rapoport said that he'd be surprised if wide receiver Greg Jennings returned to Green Bay listing the Miami Dolphins and the Minnesota Vikings as potential destinations. "Jennings isn't likely to command a premier contract after struggling through this season with a host of injuries, but his productive track record will garner attention," writes Marc Sessler of NFL.com. "The Dolphins need targets for Ryan Tannehill and Jennings is a known commodity for (head coach Joe) Philbin." At this point, there appears to be little doubt that Jennings will leave via free agency. The Packers would probably like to have him back, but not at the dollar value Jennings will command. They'll hope he signs for a huge contract in order to receive the highest compensation possible in the form of an draft choice the following season.

So what does the future hold for wide receiver Donald Driver post retirement? “Within the next week, I’ll be hosting The Katie Couric Show,” Driver is quoted as saying by Sarah Barshop of ESPNMilwaukee.com. “I’ll be co-hosting the show with her. It’ll be a nice little show, it’s going to be a wedding edition – something I like to do. I (can) plan your wedding if you decide to get married. I have my life story, my book coming out in September. I’m also doing Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition with Chris Powell, so I’m ready.” There's plenty to keep Driver busy. He'll be making an appearance at a Milwaukee Admirals hockey game next week and will be hosting his annual celebrity softball game in June.
