Packers Daily Links: Saints Teammates Agree Voice Isn't Hargrove's

A report from CBSSports.com says many members of the New Orleans Saints are backing Hargrove's claim. That and more in today's Daily Links...

According to a report from Mike Freeman of CBSSports.com, Packers defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove has nearly an entire team's backing of his claims that it's not his voice in a video the NFL used against him as part of their evidence in Hargrove's appeal of his suspension for allegedly taking part in the New Orleans Saints' bounty program. "CBSSports.com has spoken with a number of people close to the situation who say almost everyone on the Saints team knows the identity of the voice on the tape and they say it's not Hargrove," writes Freeman. No one would identify the player that did say "Give me my money," but according to the report, several members of the Saints are trying to get that player to come forward.

In related "Bountygate" news, Jason LaCanfora of CBSSports.com reports that the NFL's players union is planning a legal challenge to the NFL's ruling and Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com explains why no ruling came from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Monday.

The amount of proceeds raised from Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings' charity golf outing earlier this month were reported by Packer Report. "Pro Bowl Green Bay Packers receiver Greg Jennings and his wife, Nicole, announced on Monday that the fifth-annual Greg Jennings Foundation Celebrity Golf Tournament netted in excess of $200,000 for this foundation," the article states. "The event was held June 8 at his hometown Kalamazoo (Mich.) Country Club." One additional piece of interesting information was that Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh attended Jennings' charity fundraiser. I wonder if that means Suh is attempting to mend bridges after last year's "stomp" and if players on the Packers are accepting.

On the occasion of the NFL's Rookie Symposium, former Packers safety Matt Bowen shares his experience at the Symposium years ago in a column for the Chicago Tribune. Entertainingly, he explains how the NFL had players put a condom on a banana. "The league was treating us like high school kids and we weren't falling for it," writes Bowen. "It was just one of the many exercises we took part in at the NFL's rookie symposium in California, a four-day workshop designed to prep drafted players for life in the pros." Bowen also shares insight from former Packers defensive lineman Aaron Kampman and explains that former Packers linebacker Hardy Nickerson is a speaker at this year's event.

Adding to the canon of articles on the shoulder injury of cornerback Tramon Williams is Paul Imig of Fox Sports Wisconsin who shares some quotes from Williams talking about his recovery. "I've done some testing in the offseason, I've done an EMG test, which tests the nerves," Williams is quoted as saying. "The left side, everything was fine, 100 percent. And they got to the right side, and some of the nerve was firing right. Then they got to the spot where I got hit at, and it showed a significant difference that the nerve wasn't firing like the rest of my nerves were."

Former Packers quarterback Brett Favre paid a visit to a patient battling brain cancer in Dubuque, Ia.

Packer Report shares articles on its roster countdown and the Packers game against the New Orleans Saints.

I know this topic came up earlier, but I can't believe anyone else would believe Tramon at let's say 75%(maybe generous) of his normal self, was a better option than either Bush, Lee, House or someone else. And according to Tramon the coaching staff knew how disabled he was - "Last year, the coaches knew what my situation was," Williams said. "I think they tried to plan around it. I know they tried to plan around it. They might not tell you and they might not say it, but I know they tried to plan around it."

Ironically, Collins took-out two pro-bowl caliber secondary men last year and the back-half of the D never recovered. However, the coaching staff didn't do the team any favors by keeping in a D-back, who could essentially use only half of his body.

I will bet that the Packers are NOT happy that Tramon just told the world that his dominant side shoulder is testing out at less than 50% strength.

Sweet jesus, Tramon, shut your yap. Other teams could be, and ARE, listening.

What if its a bluff and he's feeling better so it gets teams to throw at him to their detriment so he gets a couple of early INTs in the season?

That would be awesome, but alas, highly doubtful.
