Packers Daily Links: Rodgers Expects to Be Listed on Injury Report

Aaron Rodgers admitted to sustaining a minor leg injury on Sunday against the Texans. That and more in today's Daily Links...

In his weekly radio interview on the ESPN Radio affiliate in Milwaukee, 540 WAUK-AM, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers admitted he hurt his leg on a third quarter running play. Host Jason Wilde writes on ESPNMilwaukee.com, "Asked if the injury was bad enough to land him on the injury report, Rodgers replied, 'Yeah, probably. Maybe. We’ll see.' He later said that he will play Sunday at St. Louis, regardless." The play he was hurt on was his 11-yard run for a touchdown, which was called back by penalty. Rodgers absorbed a hit from Texans cornerback Jonathan Joseph near the goal line.

Aaron Rodgers also discussed the criticism he recently took from the media and his thoughts on wide receiver Randall Cobb.

Randall Cobb is one of three players featured as the fastest players on the Packers in an article by Lori Nickel of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, joining Jordy Nelson and Sam Shields. "In a foot race, cornerback Sam Shields beats everyone," writes Nickel. "It's not just that he clocked 4.28 seconds in the 40-yard dash coming out of the University of Miami as an undrafted free agent in 2010. It's also that teammates still award Shields the title of fastest man on the team."

When the rest of the 32 NFL owners approved Jimmy Haslam III's purchase of the Cleveland Browns, it marked the end of former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike Holmgren's time as team president. "New Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam III said Tuesday that Holmgren was out as team president, although the Super Bowl-winning coach will remain with the franchise to help in the transition," according to the Associated Press. Holmgren is more or less being forced to retire.

Aaron Rodgers was nominated for the Air NFL Player of the Week award for his performance this past Sunday against the Houston Texans. "Fans can vote for one player in each category on NFL.com from 9 a.m. EST on Tuesday through 3 p.m. EST on Friday to determine the Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week," according to a press release on the Packers official website. "The winners will be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com." The other nominees are Josh Freeman of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos.

Seriously.

It is funny how infuriated Packer fans (myself definitely included) get when other teams do the belt. It's so silly.

Rodgers has bones as strong as Favre's for not getting injured as often from all those hits he gets.
