The Green Bay Packers have signed former St. Louis Rams offensive lineman Kevin Hughes as a street free agent, according to Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "Hughes, 24, signed with the Rams in July 2011 after not being drafted out of Southeastern Louisiana, where he started one year at right tackle and two at left tackle," writes McGinn. Hughes played in three regular season games with the Rams in 2011 and spent part of the 2012 season on the practice squad of the San Diego Chargers. In the same article, McGinn also writes about how the Packers hoped to sign the Canadian Football League's Offensive Lineman of the Year, Jovan Olafioye, but did not sign him because of his medical risk. Olafioye reportedly takes medication to keep his blood pressure under control.

In an interview with the agent of Packers safety Charles Woodson, Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel quotes Carl Poston about the possibility of signing Woodson to a restructured contract. "There's always a tradeoff," Poston is quoted as saying. "I'm sure there's something we could work out if there's more guaranteed money in the deal." According to the agent, everything is status quo at the moment, however. The Packers have reportedly not talked to Woodson's agent about any restructured deal, but his contract calling for $10 million-plus in 2013 makes it perhaps likely that the Packers will have to come to some sort of agreement at some point in time.

The comments of Aaron Rodgers on his weekly appearance on the ESPN Radio affiliate in Milwaukee, 540 AM WAUK, took on quite a bit of significance when he suggested it was time to let bygones be bygones in regards to Brett Favre. “As the face of the franchise now, (it's) a role that I take very seriously. I have the responsibility and enjoy having the opportunity to represent my team,” Rodgers is quoted as saying by Jason Wilde of ESPNMilwaukee.com. “I think it's important to realize that it is time to probably time to move forward.” Rodgers' comments represent a major step forward for the organization in terms of reconciliation. It will be interesting to see if guys like Mike McCarthy and Ted Thompson take the high road like the quarterback of their organization has done.

Aaron Rodgers also spoke about several other topics on his radio show, including the daunting 2013 schedule, the Super Bowl blackout, Joe Flacco's contract and the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
