I loved what Finley had to say. Now let's see him put his money where his mouth is.

IMHO pretty smart of Finley. He knows that his bread is buttered by a team of WRs that is ridiculously deep and #12.

His agent isn't Drew Rosenhaus. I'm not worried about holding out.

Sounds to me like Finley is telling the Packers that the current offer on the table isn't good enough and he is willing to play with the tag for another year. i.e. - if you want to keep me long term you got to do better then that!

I'm guessing though they work out a Packer friendly long term deal in the next few days. Finley coming off a injury knows the risk of injury and the risk that he could lose his only shot at a BIG second contract. TT figures out a way to lock him up for another four years but still pay him slightly under market value.

You could be right about something happening in the next few days. I am not convinced at all about how motivated Ted is to re-sign Finley, but it seems like they often use the bye week to get someone's deal done (maybe this is me mis-remembering). And this could be a hint that something is happening.

Wouldn't shock me if someone was signed and it was Wells, not Finley, though!

As the franchise tag for TE is above 7 million this year and it might go up next year I say two things:
1. Finley better be happy to get tagged, because that is a lot of money.
2. I highly doubt the Packers will use the tag on anyone. When was the last time they tagged anyone with a franchise tag? Was it Nick Barnett 3 years ago?
I doubt that we will see Finley on the team next year. The other TEs can fill the void (they have shown it last year) and in the end the TE is not the main target in the Packers offense.

I personally think that it would be a big loss if we do not resign YOTO. Just him being on the field opens things up for the recievers and when other teams do not account for him during there game planning they get burned(i.e. the Bears).
