Packers Daily Links: Favre Says Moment with Rodgers "Wasn't Awkward"

Serving as an analyst on the NFL Network's pregame Super Bowl coverage, former Packers quarterback Brett Favre talked about serving as a presenter with current Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers during the annual "NFL Honors" awards show on Saturday evening. "It wasn’t awkward," Favre is quoted as saying by Bob Wolfley of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "We had some laughs about it prior to going out. Aaron has up to this point an unbelievable career. That goes without saying. You know, I’m proud of what I’ve done. There is no ill feelings. There isn’t. There might be from other people." Many Packers fans are waiting for a reconciliation between Favre and the Packers organization, and what happened Saturday could have been the first step. However, there are still many more steps yet to go. Stay tuned.

It was announced on Saturday evening that former Packers linebacker Dave Robinson would be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In an interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Robinson talked about it being his final chance to get into the Hall of Fame. "You can't get back on as a senior candidate," said Robinson. "I'm 71 years old. I would never be back. This would be my one last shot." Congratulations to Robinson. He becomes the 22nd Packer to join the Hall of Fame. The ceremony will take place on Aug. 3.

More on Dave Robinson comes from the Packers official website in an article and press release.

As noted by, the Packers lost out on two awards handed out at the "NFL Honors" awards show this past weekend. Cornerback Casey Hayward finished behind Luke Kuechly for the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year Award and Tom Crabtree failed to win the NFL's Play of the Year Award after Randall Cobb won the same honor the previous season. Congratulations to Hayward and Crabtree on their nominations.

Another item appearing at is the post-season evaluation of Clay Matthews.

Aaron Rodgers talked to the Associated Press in an article published on Sunday in response to the sibling rivalry taking place with Jim and John Harbaugh taking place in the Super Bowl. "There's still a chance Rodgers could wind up facing one of his brothers on the field, maybe even at the Super Bowl," reads the article. "Jordan Rodgers led Vanderbilt to its first nine-win record since 1915 last season and is now preparing for the NFL draft." It will take quite a bit of improvement for the junior Rodgers to join his brother on a stage like the Super Bowl, but we won't count it out yet.

Fox Sports Wisconsin had articles published over the weekend on wide receiver Randall Cobb and where former Packers quarterback Matt Flynn will end up.

Packers president Mark Murphy has his monthly column published at the Packers official website.

I just have a hard time believing about 95% of anything #4 has to say anymore. I'll never forget the way he acted in 2008.

Agree. Between that and the Jan Sterger "incident" Favre really has no credibility. Three stories here on one Favre appearance means there's still a lot of blog interest and writers are obviously ready to believe in the favre again. Packer fans have long-since moved-on.

Really? You think bloggers and fans are mutually exclusive groups of people?

C'mon man...

Love Arodg 100% but Favre is a boss and casts a large shadow. Arodg has BIG shoes to fill.

#4 can't carry A-rods jock as a person!
Let alone as a Packer!

Who the hell really cares what Favre had to say, about awkward!
What about our current QB? A-Rod? SB MVP, best ever QB rating, working behind one of the worst OL in the league, Really!
And three stories about #4, and only one about Mr. Robinson, who is a true PACKER! just inducted to the HOF? WTF!
Maybe you could enlighten us with who, #4 was sitting w/ at this event. Frazier, head coach of the qeens!
Reconciliation is not in many Packer fans plans anytime soon!
Also, gotta remember most of these writers are post Lombardi era, then #4 comes along and he's the king, HE was a great QB, BUT not a great PACKER!!
Casey Hayward looks to be a stud in the making, look forward to his up swing.
Love to see a story about Aarons brother Jordon.
