Packers CB Casey Hayward Suits Up for Second Consecutive Thursday Practice

The Packers cornerback has yet to be ruled out of Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.

From Green Bay Packers practice on Thursday:

As Demovsky notes, just because Hayward practiced a week ago didn't mean anything for his game-day status when he sat out of the game against the Detroit Lions.

The difference this week, however, is that Hayward has been yet to be ruled out for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens whereas last week at this time he was already declared out.

Hayward has yet to play during the 2013 regular season due to a hamstring injury that he originally aggravated shortly before training camp.

The Packers are missing the big-play ability they got from Hayward's six interceptions a year ago. Currently Green Bay is negative-two in turnover ratio this season in part due to forcing very few on the defensive side of the football.

Hamstring injuries continue to plague the Packers defensive this season with linebacker Brad Jones set to miss the Week 6 game and cornerback Jarrett Bush limited by injury as well.

Safety Morgan Burnett, linebacker Clay Matthews and fullback John Kuhn have all come back from hamstring injuries suffered earlier in the year.

Head coach Mike McCarthy will give an update during his press conference later Thursday afternoon.

UPDATE: Hayward was officially listed as a limited, not full, participant in Thursday's practice.

I've got a pretty good feeling this is just another head fake by MM. If he was ready to go he would be flying this from every flagpole.

No they wouldn't be telling the world. Keeping his status under wraps keeps the opponent guessing. Better to let them have uncertainty till the last minute than to announce it early. This is standard operating procedure for all teams. Makes no sense to disclose anything right now.

Really think this is common knowledge among football fans.

The Packers didn't know Calvin j was out until morning of the game. The less info your opponent has, the better your chances.

Who believes this was actually a hamstring injury?? This just seems WAY too long to be out for that. Am I underestimating the severity of hamstring injuries??

You have to consider that he aggravated the hamstring in Week 3 of the preseason. Had he not done that, he probably would have been ready in time for the start of the regular season. But by having a setback, everything was pushed back.
