Packers Calendar: Updates on Chad Clifton, Mike Neal This Afternoon

After getting their typical Tuesday off, the Green Bay Packers return to practice on Wednesday afternoon.

After practice, head coach Mike McCarthy will have his press conference broadcasted live on the team's official website at 1:35 p.m. Central time.

McCarthy said Monday that he would "hopefully" be able to give a timeline on the potential returns of offensive lineman Chad Clifton and defensive lineman Mike Neal.

Clifton has a hamstring injury and has said he doesn't think it will be a season-ending injury while Neal is hopeful for a return after sustaining a knee injury in training camp.

Dors the fact that Never-Heal-Neal might come back this year make him any less of a bitch? Dude said he be back after the bye week and no one believes him.

To be fair, I've never seen him say he'll definitively be back. He's always said he hopes he'll be back.

Does the fact that your nickname for Neal rhymes make you more of a bitch?

I don't think throwing 'bitch' status at someone because of legitimate injuries is appropriate. If you went out and picked fights with a mountain lion every day for a living, I wouldn't begrudge you a few days off to nurse your wounds.

Nearly every NFL player works extremely hard to condition their body to avoid injuries. Then they run as fast as they can and collide with other giant men running just as fast in the opposite direction. Injuries happen. Some guys get lucky. Others get unlucky. It doesn't make them bitches.

9 times out of 10, when a player is on the fence to play or not, it's the coach/league/doctors keeping them out - that's the NFL we live with - it's projected liability, not pain, that holds them back.

Yes, I agree and welcome back. I guess my thought is the coaching and med staff probably never thought he would be back by now. Guess we'll find out more today. It'd be nice to get him by the time we play the Viqueens so he's acclimated by Thanksgiving show down in the hood known as D-Town.

I am anxious to see Neal. He is the reason we let Jenkins go.
