Packers Calendar: Training Camp Blood Drive

Taking place from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. inside the Lambeau Field atrium on Thursday, the Green Bay Packers will host their annual blood drive in conjunction with the American Red Cross.

All blood donors will receive a special giveaway item (while supplies last), a chance to win authentic Packers merchandise and can enjoy special refreshments provided by Delaware North Companies.

I have a personal connection with Red Cross as my wife works for their Badger-Hawkeye region, so I highly suggest taking part in today's collection event if you're visiting Packers training camp and supporting their mission.

Donors and the public in general will also have the opportunity to watch Packers practice on Thursday, as action gets underway at 11:00 a.m. at Ray Nitschke Field.

Thursday's session represents the last day of practice before the team's second preseason game on Saturday against the Rams in St. Louis.

The Packers will be taking off the pads and practicing in only helmets as they back off from hitting and focus on maintaining health just two days before their next game.

Head coach Mike McCarthy has already acknowledged wide receiver Randall Cobb won't take part in Thursday's practice and will be "a stretch" to play against the Rams.

As soon as practice is over, McCarthy will host a press conference that will be streamed live at the team's official website at
