Packers Calendar: Schedule Release and Pre-Draft Press Conference

There are schedule-release specials airing at 7 p.m. CT on both the NFL Network and ESPN on Thursday evening.

The NFL's regular season schedule release is coming two days later than expected, but the time is finally upon us. There were reports that it was originally to be announced on Tuesday, but the NFL needed two more days to put some finishing touches on the final product.

There are schedule release specials scheduled on both the NFL Network and ESPN at 7 p.m. Central time this evening, the same time as when online outlets worldwide will begin publishing the schedule as well.

The Packers already know their opponents. Today is simply the day when they learn the dates and times.

Home:

Chicago, Detroit, Minnesota, Philadelphia, Washington, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Atlanta

Away:

Chicago, Detroit, Minnesota, Dallas, N.Y. Giants, Baltimore, Cincinnati, San Francisco

Brace yourselves for busy phone lines and heavy online traffic as fans across the country begin making hotel and flight reservations.

General manager Ted Thompson will also hold his annual pre-draft press conference earlier in the day that will be aired on the Packers official website at 12 p.m. CT. The start of the NFL Draft is exactly one week away.

Thompson typically isn't one that's going to give any draft secrets away, but he's usually capable of producing one lighthearted moment or two in his "pressers."

Curious if Cheesehead TV will hold any type of Drafting contest. Maybe just the first round or the first three or maybe the whole seven rounds.
