Packers Calendar: Sam Shields, Mike Daniels on Injury Report

The Packers cornerback and defensive lineman will be listed on the team's injury report on Saturday.

Because of the Green Bay Packers are playing a day later than usual on Monday Night Football, they'll be releasing an atypical Saturday injury report.

The status of two starters on the Packers defense will be of particular attention because neither player has practiced yet this week: cornerback Sam Shields (concussion) and defensive lineman Mike Daniels (back).

At 11:45 a.m. CT, the Packers will release their practice participation reports (did not participate, limited, full) followed by their game day status projection (out, doubtful, questionable, probable).

Head coach Mike McCarthy will then hold a press conference to be streamed live on Packers.com.

Two more players did not practice on Friday, and their status is also up in the air: linebacker Jamari Lattimore (ankle) and offensive lineman Lane Taylor (illness).

During the evening, the Packers will be hosting their ninth annual Festival of Lights at Lambeau Field from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

"The family-themed event, free to the public, will take place in the Lambeau Field Atrium, and feature cookie decorating, holiday movies and cartoons, holiday card making, photo opportunities with Santa Claus and area high school choirs performing holiday music," according to the Packers website.

Later in the evening, the event will move out onto Harlan Plaza for the official lighting of the tree. Volunteers will also be collecting donations for Toys for Tots during the event.

Earlier in the day, former Packers linebacker Brady Poppinga will be doing a trio of book signings in the Green Bay area, including Lambeau Field.

Poppinga will appear from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. at the Packers Pro Shop.

According to 22 Promotions on Facebook, he'll also appear in Kimberly, Wis. from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. and at Barnes and Noble in Green Bay from noon until 1:30 p.m.

Daniels is becoming one of those significant guys you don't want to lose. Keep AR upright is all that matters. The injury bug has stayed away pretty much, this team is as healthy as one can expect for this time of year. knock on wood.

So, the way MM puts it when a player has a knee injury: "He's got a knee".
Looking forward to him saying, regarding Shields' concussion: "He's got a brain", or, "He's got a head."
