Packers Calendar: Rodgers Begins Second-Round Play at Pebble Beach

Aaron Rodgers and professional golfer D.J. Trahan are tied for 25th in the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am after shooting seven under par on Thursday.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will tee off at 9:17 a.m. Pacific time at Monterey Peninsula Country Club Shore Course on Friday at the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am PGA Tour event.

Live television coverage of the event will occur from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. Central time on the Golf Network with an evening replay from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Paired with D.J. Trahan, Rodgers and his professional golfing partner look to improve upon their seven under par score in Thursday's opening round. Their -7 score was in the upper half of Pro-Am scores placing them tied for 25th.

Trahan alone carded a two under par, which has him tied for 41st among the professional golfers.

Rodgers' playing partners include golfer Jim Furyk and celebrity Darius Rucker of Hootie and the Blowfish.

Being by the ocean, I hope they don't see any dolphins, as they make Darius cry (he's such a baby). Could throw off the whole foursome.

Brian, what happened to the daily links? Just not enough info in the off-season?

I'm focusing on my book and the draft guide until mid to late March. The Daily Links will resume then. Just busier than usual lately.

Interesting you ask. It's about amateur baseball in Wisconsin, but during my research I learned that one of the umpires in the league I covered was actually a consultant to Vince Lombardi. It's very interesting, and I wrote a whole chapter about him. I'm going to be publishing an excerpt from that chapter here on Cheesehead probably in late April or early May. More on the book is at BrianCarriveau.com.

Wow, never knew you were so diverse in your covering of sports. Look forward to the excerpt.
