Packers Calendar: Players Check into Team Hotel

More often than not, NFL teams play games seven days apart, Sunday after Sunday during the regular season.

This week, the Packers are on a six-day work week after their past game last Saturday against the St. Louis Rams.

In preparation for their preseason game on Friday against the Seattle Seahawks, head coach Mike McCarthy is doing his best to get his players on a typical schedule.

"We're putting our players on the exact same schedule in-season as if it was a seven-day week, just trying to get their body clocks working in that direction," said Mike McCarthy on Wednesday. "We'll have our meetings (Thursday) like we always have. We'll go to the hotel (Thursday) night. "

It's common practice for players to stay at a hotel the night before a game, even when they play at home.

Also taking place on Thursday is a coaching staff meeting in which they'll determine playing time for their charges.

"How much the starters will play will come down to our conversation tomorrow as a staff," said McCarthy. "I don't have it set (yet)."

Of particular note is the status of a couple players who have yet to play in a preseason game this year. McCarthy said a decision on whether to play running back DuJuan Harris will come down to the medical staff but said he'd like to see him play. The Packers head coach also didn't rule out wide receiver Randall Cobb.

"Randall Cobb was in a limited practice mode (Wednesday)," said McCarthy. "He has a chance for Friday. We'll see (Thursday). (Thursday's) evaluation is probably, as always, the most important one. I know Randall's very close."

Other players whose playing status is up in the air include defensive lineman Datone Jones and outside linebacker Andy Mulumba.
