Packers Calendar: Mike McCarthy's First Training Camp Press Conference

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy will conduct his first training camp press conference of 2013 on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. CT.

McCarthy will discuss all matters pertinent to the opening of the season, from Datone Jones' recently signed contract to position battles on the football field. It will be interesting to see if he comments on any of the storylines related to Aaron Rodgers and his relationships with Ryan Braun and Greg Jennings.

The press conference will be streamed live on the team's website at

While practice doesn't start until Friday morning, players report to Packers headquarters today. Physicals began at 6:00 a.m., and the team will likely have meetings before the action begins tomorrow.

Elsewhere in Green Bay, the new Cabela's store will hold its grand opening on land leased from the Packers organization.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 10:45 a.m. with the doors open for business at 11:00 a.m.

The 100,000 square foot store features a mountain replica, hundreds of museum-quality wildlife displays, an aquarium, indoor archery range, Gun Library, Bargain Cave, Deli, Fudge Shop and a Sportsman's Hall of Fame showcasing Wisconsin trophy animal mounts and other memorabilia honoring the state's outdoor heritage.

Cabela's will also be hosting a conference call live from Lambeau Field at 8:00 a.m. to release second quarter 2013 financial results.

The call will be hosted by Cabela's CEO and CFO and can be accessed live at the Investor Relations section of the company's website at

Hopefully tomorrow won't be the start of the endless injury summer. Let's keep our hope up.
