Packers Add Miller, Subtract Vanderlin, Scott From Practice Squad

The Green Bay Packers signed DT Jordan Miller to the practice squad, while releasing DE Drew Vanderlin and G Chris Scott.

The Green Bay Packers made a trio of moves Tuesday to their eight-man practice squad.

The team released defensive end Drew Vanderlin and guard Chris Scott, while also signing defensive tackle Jordan Miller.

Vanderlin (6-3, 288 lbs.), a Green Bay native, was signed last Wednesday. Scott (6-5, 332), originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2010, was added to the practice squad on Sept. 3.

Miller (6-1, 309) spent the majority of the 2011 season on the Bears practice squad after being signed as an undrafted free agent. He was elevated to the 53-man roster for Week 17 but was inactive. The Bears then cut him this August as part of final cutdowns.

Over three season at Southern University, Miller played in 31 games and finished with 90 tackles, 18 sacks and 30 tackles for loss. He was assigned No. 91 by the Packers.

Before the 2011 NFL draft, Miller ran the 40-yard dash in 5.1 seconds and put up 30 reps on the 225-pound bench press.

The Packers current practice squad:

  1. WR Diondre Borel
  2. TE Brandon Bostick
  3. QB B.J. Coleman
  4. T Andrew Datko
  5. DT Jordan Miller
  6. CB James Nixon
  7. WR Jeremy Ross

I guess I haven't been paying attention as well as I thought I had been. I thought Lawrence Guy was on there.
