Packers Add Garth Gerhart to Practice Squad, Release Reggie Dunn

The Packers announced they have made a change to their practice squad by signing center Garth Gerhart and releasing Reggie Dunn.

Gerhart, a 6-foot-1, 310-pound first-year player out of Arizona State, was on Green Bay’s practice squad for the final week of the 2012 postseason and remained with the Packers until being released in the final roster reduction at the conclusion of the preseason.

I sure feel better about our chances with this pick up.

well, there goes my hope that Dunn could become a return specialist. I was really intrigued by his speed and whatnot. But i'm guessing he wasn't consistent enough catching punts and kicks.

Apparently Nixon, who has world class speed, can also return kicks according to McCarthy. Dunn can only return kicks. Makes it hard for him to keep a roster spot for such a limited role especially when most kickoffs are kicked for a touchback. Nixon can play all special teams and cornerback plus return kicks. I wish they could increase roster sizes. TT always ends up getting rid of so many players that play for other teams. It sucks. TT should get rewarded for being great not punished. Pathetic teams like MN just sit and wait and scavenge off of Green Bay's scraps year after year!!
