The Packers whether in a win or loss justify anyone cringing.

We have 4 games to get better at O and D. I think we are a little above average at both but not great at either. Can that change? absolutely! it happens, but here what needs to change IMO.

MLF has to get his players to play with better execution, confidence and urgency.

On O....Minimize the amount of false starts and delay of game penalties which puts in unfavorable down and distance. Throw some on first down and run some on second, basically become less predictable, but execution still ranks above all else.

On D....communicate better amongst the backField to reduce big plays. Play more physical at LOS and tackle hard. All players swarm to the ball. Of course continue to create TO’s.

Tall task? Yes. Achievable? Yes. Let’s keep in mind we have a lot of new players that hopefully will start communicating better with each other. We have a new O and Coaching staff as well. Maybe things will all mesh together over the next 4 games. Oh My, what fun we’re having. I know I’ll enjoy the ride either way. Go Pack Go!

Game Balls...(Damn Jason, you took all the GOOD ones)

Savage...There was a play he made in the backfield where his speed was really evident, the INT, and a few others sprinkled in. This was one of his better games IMO. Much of the time Rookies start to slow down late in the season. Really hoping that doesn't happen with Savage.

Special Teams as a whole... The Packers as a whole played better on ST. IF they can do this the rest of the way, they'll be better off. ST Coach still needs to go but at least they didn't LOSE yardage this week.

Secondary... I thought they played better overall BUT since the Giants didn't have either Engram and Golden Tate they SHOULD have. BUT they did CATCH the INT's thrown right to them. Williams pick was a BEAUTIFUL play.

Rodgers TD pass to Lewis... Rodgers walked up to the line, looked at the defense and then yelled Big Dog, Big Dog, Big Dog, and then Big Dog caught a TD pass.

Lame Calls...

The Refs... The penalty on Martinez was one of the absolute WORST calls on the season. I've watched it several times and still can't get my head wrapped around that one. There was NOTHING there.

Deep Balls on 3rd down...Jason already mentioned it but this week leading up to the game I made comments many times about those types of plays and that they needed to stop. If they were remotely close fine but their not. It doesn't matter if it's MLF or Rodgers calling for it... It matters that it's STILL happening too much.

MVS... Hard to imagine this was many's #2 WR at the start of the season.

Sternberger...WHY isn't he at least being tried in the lineup? Get him out there and let him have a go at it. Put him in the slot or run him out of the backfield but at least TRY to use him a few times.

Good win, but I could do without the defensive celebrations (pictured above). Our D just hasn't been good enough to pose for a picture - it was the Giants and they were without their two best WRs for crying out loud. Pose after you've beaten the Bears and Vikings again!

Why is Rashan Gary posing like Anita Ekberg (you young'uns can google her, it's worth it)? He plays like Calista Lockhart.

The fumble out of bounds hurt it a little, but Taes catch where he did the 360 was absolutely beautiful..

Game Balls:

Rodgers - He looked like he was having some fun out there. For all those that keep suggesting that we trade Rodgers for draft picks. Look at the other side. Would you rather have Rodgers or a guy like Daniel Jones. I mean seriously.

Za'Darius Smith - He looked unblockable at times. One thing is he looks like he is built for winter weather.

Allison - I have been hard on Allison. But he came up with probably the biggest catch of the game and honestly probably the key play of the game. That 4th down play was huge. 4th and 10 and he makes the big catch. If he doesn't bring that in it could have been a completely different game.

Adams & Lazard - Adams is WR1 and Lazard is clearly WR2. He just makes plays. Combined they had 9 receptions on 13 targets for 167 yards and 3 TD's.

Scott - Welcome back! He looked to be punting much better, which is a very big thing! We need him down the stretch!

Crosby - Truly one of the greats!

Lame Calls:

Soft coverages on 3rd downs & allowing TE's to do what they want - Seriously. How do guys get WIDE open constantly against our defense. What happened to that in your face defense that the season started out with?

Notes:
- This team starts out fast and ends well. Its the middle part of the games that they need to improve. To many lulls in the middle of games.

- Bulaga playing and playing as well as he did was incredible since we weren't sure how long he'd be out for. The signs weren't looking good when they brought up Nijman off the PS and signed Veldheer.

- I will go with my weekly Refs suck take. It sucks that I'm starting to get used to it unfortunately. But seriously how do you call Za'darius offsides. Just cuz he jumps doesn't mean he is automatically offsides. He never got into the neutral zone. 2 guys are watching that line and neither of them saw that he never jumped into the neutral zone?
Also what the hell was that on Martinez? Seriously?

I agree with Jason on the Game Balls. I'm going to add the Packers run defense. They did a pretty good job of holding Barkley in check for most of the game.

Lame Calls: Deep throws on 3rd and short. I'm not sure if it is something the Packers pick up on film during the week or if Rodgers comes to the line and sees a one-on-one matchup that he really likes or another reason but there are times to take a shot and times to just move the chains. It may be a lack of confidence in the OL to execute the blocking for a running play or the defense has the short routes covered but we need to come up with a play that we can pick up a short yardage 3rd down with. The out pass to Allison and the TD toss to Big Dog both seem like they would be fine 3rd down plays to me.
My other lame call is Pettine going with a soft zone on some of our opponents 3rd and short yardage plays. Why aren't we coming up to the LOS and knocking the receivers off their routes? We make it very simple for our opponent to pick up 1st downs on too many plays. I'm not complaining about the defense since we only gave up 13 points and had 3 picks but sometimes I'm just not sure what we are trying to do with some of these plays.

Belichick was asked the obvious question, "To what do you attribute your success?" His simple answer was Sun Tzu's "The Art of War." Attack your enemy's weaknesses, play to your strengths. As Mel Brooks would say, "It's so simple it's eloquent." Patriot's strength with Gronk was TE, and slot receiver. Gronk and whoever was their slot were peppered with passes. When they had Moss, he was thrown to over and over and scored a gillion TD's. Moss leaves, Gronk retires, they have no TE or great receiver, so Brady throws 20 passes a game to Edelman and White. They move the chains and win. None of this spread it around crap. On D, it's well known, and he said it in the interview, take away the enemy's best threat. Works like a charm. You have Julio Jones?... we'll make Sanu beat us. On O, Edelman is their biggest threat today, so he's played 90% of the snaps this year, Now to the Packers. Play the 49'ers. Their biggest threat?... Kittle. He goes off. This week against the Ravens, they double him, he does squat. Ravens win. We do none of that "take out the best player" stuff. We seem to play the same D against every team, as opposed to Belichick who says every week his D is different. On offense, Aaron Jones was being talked about as an MVP candidate three weeks ago. Since then he's close to invisible. This isn't pee wee football, everyone doesn't need to play. The NFL is a stars league. Feed your stars and playmakers. And learn to recognize talent. Did Gute really think it was a good idea to go into the season with Allison in the slot; a tall, awkward, low twitch slot receiver? We complain about Rodgers not throwing over the middle, who should he throw it to with Allison and Graham being the main middle of the field targets? This team has just enough talent to maybe squeeze into the SB, but MLF and Pettine, have to learn from Belichick, or maybe from the guy Belichick most resembles, Lombardi. His Packers had a signature play and ran it over and over; "A seal here, a seal here, and run this play in the alley!" I just don't see the Belichick/Lombardi philosophy at work with MLF. He's from that new offense school, and so far it isn't working. His offense is disjointed, has no identity. Packers need to feed Jone and Adams with Lazard getting some love. Forget Allison and MVS and the rest of that motley WR crew. Jones needs to be used like White, throw after throw into the flat when he's not running the ball. 20 touches or more a game. He's our game-breaker. Not the likable Williams. He's our closer once we've built up a lead. MLF, watch some early Packer and Patriot games, and make Sun Tzu your bedtime reading.

I am not overwhelmed by this win , this was expected and the Packers took care of business , I think the spread was 6.5 so the Packers covered and more and that’s all Vegas cares about . It was a good road win in bad weather , no sacks on Rodgers , no injuries so yes it’s a good win, nothing to see here let’s move on.

Didn't see the game other than the 17-10 halftime score. Based on all the comments, it seems like you are either an ass for not being grateful for the win or an ass because you think the team is under performing. I do know that the NY Giants are struggling to field a serious team so the win, while important, might have a low hanging fruit quality to it.

For the times that I got to see the Packers play this season, I can't say that this team is hitting on many cylinders or has the toughness to trade body punches with the likes of Baltimore, San Fran, New Orleans or the Patriots. Personally, I don't care as long as the team plays up to its potential and conducts itself with class. At least we are doing the latter.

Your right razor the Packers are playing to their potential, nothing more , tremendous improvement from last season but several position players away from dominating teams having Rodgers maybe masks other deficiencies but still need a playmaking inside linebacker and another receiver at the least and some coaching changes .

I agree and I like where we are compared to last season but we have inconsistent play from several receivers and our middle linebackers so I think we need another good draft and then maybe the Packers will be a complete team.

Lame? Just dont get safety play. Savage should not have bern way back standing around getting an intercept. King shouldnt have been just standing there as receiver ran by and got an interception. Both guys should be staying with receiver to prevent an easy pass.

Maybe not quite a game ball, but the game coin, official snow plow or something to Big Dog. Now start using him for about 4 targets per game. One of the most under-utilized potential weapon.

I agree with other above posters on mention to Crosby especially under such conditions. It takes a weathered veteran to stay cool in freezing weather like that. With so many teams struggling, and even losing games on account of bad kickers, its way past time to spotlight Crosby/ Chigo, Pats, and couple other teams have their games altered if not the season altered by inconsistent kickers.

Statistically, the Packers v. Giants games was almost dead even along with the time of possession. The difference was the 3 interceptions.

Don't understand the soft zone defense that Pettine is running out there.

We have to get a DT to stop the run and another LB to stop the TE. If that could be accomplished by next year, the high scrutiny on Pettine will be in order. I know people have been mad at Blake Martinez, but honestly, without a solid DT upfront he is asked to cover too much ground. Go easy on Blake.

Our offensive line has to get tougher a 2nd receiver must emerge Lazard maybe? We have no one in the slot. Allison is up and down. Kumerow is non-existent.

We have got use and get our TEs going . Graham won't be back. M. Lewis might retire.

I can't figure out MVS and Rodger's. On some deep balls I keep seeing Rodger's under throw him, but I also see Rodger's mad at him for possibly not running the routes properly.

Anyone have status on Raven Greene? I thought he was supposed to be ready to play against the Giants.

I just have to say that the Tonyan penalty on the TD run didn't exactly wipe out a score. Had he not held on that play, Jones doesn't turn that corner untouched. Go Pack go! :)
