Packers 2018 Schedule Coming Soon

We're just a matter of days away from the release of the NFL' 2018 schedule and we'll soon know how the Green Bay Packers' slate shapes up this coming season.

Expect an announcement any day now.  With the advent of social media, release day has become more of a spectacle.  Game leaks throughout the day and mass speculation about when the Packers will face certain opponents.

For those looking to make a trek to Green Bay this season, release day also means a day to hurry and make your hotel arrangements before all rooms are gone or the hotels put ridiculous restrictions on game weekends.

This season, the Packers will face the NFC West and the AFC East.  They'll also see the Atlanta Falcons and Washington Redskins, based on last season's final results.  Atlanta will visit Green Bay while the Packers will make another visit to Washington, the third-straight match up that will take place on the road.

Green Bay will travel to New England, which would be Aaron Rodgers' first opportunity to play a regular season game there.  He missed the 2010 game with a concussion.  There is a good chance that this could also be Rodgers' last chance to play in New England, with the next opportunity not coming for another eight seasons if the current schedule format remains.  This one could easily be a prime time game.

The Packers will also visit Seattle for the first time since the infamous 2014 NFC championship game.  Both teams are completely different since then but it's still a good road test for the Packers.

The toughest road game this season could end up being the game in Los Angeles against the Rams.  LA has stacked their defense with veteran newcomers Aqib Talib, Ndamukong Suh and Marcus Peters.  Another big road test for the Packers and a good prime time candidate.  This is a game that might benefit the Packers to get earlier than later when the Rams have had more time to gel and get hot.

As for the home games, one of the toughest could end up being against the San Francisco 49ers.  Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has yet to lose a game as a starter.  He led San Francisco to five-straight wins to close out 2017.  This is another game that would be better earlier than later.

As for divisional match ups, the Packers have closed out the season in Detroit against the Lions for the past two seasons.  They've visited the Minnesota Vikings earlier in the last two season.  Might that one come later this year?  I'm certain a certain quarterback will have that game specially noted.

The Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills both visit Green Bay this season for the first time since Green Bay's Super Bowl season of 2010.  The Dolphins won an overtime game that season while the Bills were a mere punching bag.

The Packers should see a Monday night game as well as a Sunday nighter.  All teams play a Thursday night game as well so hopefully the schedule makers make that scenario as user friendly as they can.  A bye week in the middle vs. the beginning of the season would also be nice.

Which games do you prefer to see earlier in the season vs. later?  Does it matter?  It's coming soon!

I'm hoping for a Bye Week no earlier than week 8 this season, it's actually one of the first things I look for. The NFL NEVER seem to give the Patriots an early bye but it FEELS like the Packers get screwed at least every other year with an early bye.

I'm going to the Packers / Rams this year in Los Angeles but trust me, the Packers don't want to play in Los Angeles in September or even October. September is our hottest month of the year and is in the 100's pretty much regularly. Last year we had 100 degree temps well into October. It's been a while but if I remember correctly there is NO SHADE anywhere in the LA Coliseum so a 1:00 PM game there early would be brutal early in the season.

I don't want to open in New England, Minnesota, or Los Angeles, anywhere else would be fine with me. Actually I wouldn't mind starting the season in Seattle and SPANKING the Seahawk's there to start the season. That would be a wonderful way to start.

I live in LA .and will be at the Rams game, too, Nick Perry. You are absolutely correct, September is Hot and typically is hotter than August or July. I'm hoping for a Nov/ Dec game. I've been at Colosseum events in September and it can be miserable because there's no shade.

Do you live in LA? There's a cool Packers bar called Pickwick's Pub in Woodland hills. Packed full of fans with full on Packers grab for every game. Good selection of brew and food. I have the NFL package, but still go for certain games.

We have a very hard schedule this year. I hope the NFL scheduling committee doesn't make it more difficult! No 3 game away stretches please!

I live IN Los Angeles GBPDAN1...I live in the Mid-Wilshire/Koreatown area. I've heard of Pickwicks and believe there's another "Big Packers" bar in Burbank though I'm not 100% certain. I've had the Sunday Ticket package myself since like the 97 or 98 season I believe but this just may be the year I cancel it (Done W/Direct TV but that's another story!) I've never been to one of these "Packers Bars" but there's actually a site where you can find the one closest to you!

Agreed, NO 3 game away stretches and lets put a damn Dome Team in Lambeau in December, like the good ole days. Minnesota in week 16 or 17 would be just fine.

Regarding bye-week:
Packers had bye-week not later than 9th week of the season for the last 8 seasons. I expect this season bye-week at 11/12th week...

I believe Bears at Packers will be match at the beginning of the season (100 year old franchize against 99 year old franchize) and next season it should be Packers at Bears...

I prefer SF late in the year. It will be better for several reasons...

Packers will finish season aginst Bears or Vikings. Last 8 seasons last game Packers were playing against Bears 2 times, Vikings 2 times and Lions 4 times....

Go, Pack, Go!

Obviously would prefer a late bye, and no 3 consecutive road games.

Because of the changes in staff I want the "easy" games early and the "tough" games later. I want the bye in the middle and maybe even tied to the bye. I know that sounds vague but I think we know who many of those teams are.

No bye week before week 6, preferably week 8 or 9. No Thursday night games either. We'll see how much national exposure the NFL wants Rodgers to have to prop up their TV ratings. Thanks, Since '61

10 more days for something to get excited about. I hope the Packers have ZERO prime time games, but that just won't happen because of AR. I bet they have to finish in Minn the last game, this will most likely be for something.

If the preseason slate is any indication, we're not getting any favorable treatment due to our 7-9. What have you done for me, lately?

Give me warm weather teams in December and a mid to late BYE and no advantageous longer weeks for our opponents and I'll be thrilled.

just play in Detoilet early and have ScabFord and the boys come here in December please and a bye week at the earliest week 7. Please let the first Vike game be in prime time, so the entire world can see the Vikes new QB get hurt and put on IR in like week 1 or 2

The schedule should not be an excuse of any kind.

We can win every game, everywhere, any time...

...if we draft Ridley.
