Jerry Kramer told The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in 2008 that the team’s snarling, ferocious middle linebacker Ray Nitschke used to say he was not scared of Lombardi.
“He said he was scared of Willie,” Kramer said. “Nitschke said he hated to miss a tackle because Willie would give him this withering look.”
