After stopping at Cathy's in St. Germain for Moose tracks and listening to Andrew Brandt discussing the possible lowering of the salary cap on XM NFL. A thought struck me.

What if drafting Love was for a totally different reason than everyone suspects?

It's interesting that Murphy sent out his recent letter, particularly about the Packer's financial reserves.

What if the Packers are hedging their bets regarding the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic? What if revenues really take a hit over the next couple of years and the Pack has to dip into those monies? And what if the Packers see this as a long term trend and not just a short term setback? What if they really need to dump Rodgers huge salary? Not because they want to but because they have to?

Under that scenario the Pack is really screwed. Think about it. We all know you go nowhere with out a franchise QB. The Packers are very cognizant of the size of their market.

If this Covid -19 didn't strike this spring, would the Packers really have drafted a 1st round QB? We'll see.
