This morning I woke up and immediately felt the shock of two parallel worlds: one in which a pandemic has altered our reality; the other in which the Packers picked (and unnecessarily traded up for) Jordan Love and altered the state of Packer Nation. Unless Gutekunst picks (and possibly adds another second round pick via trade) a top WR prospect today, there will be a dark cloud hanging over this team and its management for the entire season and possibly beyond. Gutekunst is clearly disconnected from reality and refusal to load up for Rodgers' final chapter as a HOF Packers QB.

Here is what the CBS sports analyst had to say about the Jordan Love pick - his only "D" grade!

26. Packers, QB Jordan Love, Utah State

Grade: D. Terrible move by the Green Bay Packers. Aaron Rodgers told me last summer he wants to play until he's 40. They needed a receiver. They needed defensive help. Sitting behind Rodgers will do Love well, but not going to do the Packers well. You're on the cusp of getting to a Super Bowl, get Rodgers some help.

Let’s see , Patrick Queen to help the run D or Jordan Love to hold a clipboard, no brainer.

Rodgers an enthusiastic mentor? I'll believe it when I see it.

WTF was Guty thinking? The dude is the second coming of Ted Thompson. This pick did nothing to make the Packers better now! GUTY will never have another Rodgers in his lifetime! Strike while the iron is hot dude! He blew it and MLF is a lap dog! AR is going to want to move on like Brett did!

“If you listen to the fans, you’ll find yourself sitting with them” - Philadelphia Eagles football coach Joe Kuharich.

Gutekunst did what a good GM should do - serve the organization above all else. He has now a succession plan in place - which if it comes to fruition - will give the Packer fans another seamless 10+ years of elite quarterback play.

The same fans who hated the Favre to Rodgers transition now hate the Love pick. That’s why they’re plumbers, and stock brokers and school teachers.
