If I recall correctly, Barry Sanders made it known that he wouldn’t sign with a cold weather team unless they had a dome. That was the day when 1st rounders would hold out indefinitely and demand salaries well over the salary of veterans. They were able to hold the teams hostage. It was the reason the current rookie pay scale system was developed. The Packers didn’t draft Barry because of the potential nightmare of a long hold out, or worse, a wasted pick.
