Worse tackling team in football. Dix hits with his shoulder trying to knock guys down, never wraps up a guy.
we have a team of him and it will bite them in the ass going forward
Miss tackle is a player

Did you watch that one game where Dix wrapped up the ball carrier and dropped him short of sticks on 3rd down? It was that one game on last sunday night.

My thoughts on defense: Martinez played well and I thought tackles well especially in the open field. The secondary held out better after the first two drives. I hate to see only three rushers with a mobile quarterback. That long drive for a field goal in the 4th had three rushers, Trubisky escaped the pocket and converted a third down. On the last drive, Pettine was regularly blitzing and the seemed to unnerve Trubisky. And oh, three roughing the passer penalties. Where was the instruction during the offseason? Gotta fix that fast.

I think our young secondary actually played pretty well. They gave up some on the dink and dunk Bear attack. I thought they hurt us more on the ground. The pass rush was more coverage reliant as I don't think we got enough pressure on Trubisky. We also need to contain better when we cover well. Too many time Trubisky made something of nothing.
I do wonder if camp was handled properly. On one hand you don't want to get anyone injured. I am not sure they played a lot together during the pre-season. On the other hand I do expect better performances from some on the defense as the season progresses. I am still optimistic the D will get better.

The D should continue to improve, but I want to see them perform well against a top offense.

The Bears have a pretty competent offense if you ask me! Plenty of playmakers and Trubisky played better than I thought. I don't think our defensive effort against them in the first game was anything to be ashamed of. They still were much better than last year's unit IMO!
