I have been following the Browns of late and it seems their 1 weakness is O-line. I could see trading Lane Taylor for 1 of their 2 4th rounders next year. Seems like fair compensation for a starting caliber guard on the last year of his contract.

I really hope we don’t do that.

We’re trying to win a Super Bowl before Rodgers gets a lot older and it makes little sense to get rid of a good player in exchange for somebody who MIGHT be good in a couple of years.

If Taylor doesn’t hold onto his starting gig, he’s at least a very good backup. That’s a good thing to have if you’re trying to make the playoffs.

My 46.

Rodgers Boyle
Adams. Allison. MSV. Kumerow. Davis. Shepherd on the 53
Graham. Lewis. Tonyan. Sternberger on the 53.
Williams, Jones, Carson, Vitale.
Bakhtiari Taylor. Linsley. Turner. Bulaga. Jenkins. McCray.

That’s 21.

Defense: Clark. Lowry. Adams. Lancaster, Keke. Fadol on 53
Martinez, Summers, Bolton, Burks
Smith, Smith. Gary. Fackrell
Amos. Savage. Greene. Willams.
Alexander, King, Brown , Jackson.

That’s 21.

Room for one more.

Yes I think you are right best keep Taylor in town. The more starting caliber offensive linemen the better. I disagree with most people and think barring a trade they keep the 3 QBs. While Kizer has not played well he has more value than another bottom of the roster player such as Carson or Lazard, IMO.

Like the banter and thought put behind the picks on the podcast.

If I could choose I could see it going something like this. Though I do not make my living as a GM so looking forward to how BG shakes it all out:

On initial 53 but then placed on IR = ESB and Bolton, who are then replaced by another team’s ILB and another team’s waived Vet RB (if better than D Williams, but tough to put Williams through waivers with his potential even if it takes him some time to gradually be incorporated more later in the season as learns the playbook and his assignments better)

So after additions:

Offense (25)
QB (2): Rodgers, Boyle
RB (4): Jones, J. Williams, waived vet RB, Vitale
TE (4): Graham, Tonyan, Lewis, Sternberger
OL (9): Bakhtiari, Taylor, Linsley, Turner, Bulaga, Light, Jenkins, Nijman, Patrick (though could be McCray instead)
WR (6): Adams, Allison, MVS, Kumerow, Davis, Shepherd

Defense (25)
DL (6): Adams, Clark, KeKe, Lowry, Lancaster, Brown
OLB (5): Smith, Smith, Gary, Fackrell, Ramsey (edited after Gilbert trade)
ILB (4): Martinez, Summers, Burks, waived ILB (if better than Sheldon)
CB (6): King, Alexander, Jackson, Williams, Brown, Hollman
S (4): Amos, Savage, Green, Redmond

Specialists (3)
K: Crosby
P: Scott
LS: Bradley

PUP: Campbell, Roberts
IR: ESB and Bolton

QB: Wilkins
RB: D Williams
FB: Johnson
WR: Lazard
OL: Madison
OL: Pankey
DT: Looney
ILB: Sheldon
CB: Ento
CB: Sullivan

Which would mean McCray, Moore, Carson, Kizer, DeBeer, Markus Jones, Ficken, etc do not make it (though if Moore or Carson aren’t claimed off waivers they could replace some PS players above).

1 waived vet to have an eye on is TJ Yeldon from Buffalo. They have more rbs than they know what to do with up there. They have Shady McCoy, Frank Gore, Devin Singletary, TJ Yeldon, and some rugby player Wade who has looked really good.

With Gilbert gone, I think we use that spot to keep an extra offensive player. I had 25 and 25 but now I see 26 and 24 while putting guys like Bolton on ir and Campbell on pup. I guess Carson can be rb 5 now (incl fb). I still only have 6 wr and 2 qb.
