Thanks for the great analysis...tough decisions ahead and happy it’s not me making these roster moves.

Not sure I agree Fadol Brown and Looney have outplayed Tyler Lancaster, he was not great in the first game but was a run stuffer against the Ravens. He was the Highest rated defender on the team, Pettine likes Lancaster because it gives him extra flexibility on the edges with different packages. He makes this team.

D,
Get your point but if both are good players what is wrong with that? Both learning ST's and appear to be doing well.

Both are the same height slightly under 6'5" and Lazard 13 lbs heavier coming out of college. ESB benches 20 reps of 225 lbs while Lazard did 17 reps. ESB is 22 years old and Lazard 23 years old. Is that a few months difference, or a year? Both are try hard guys with good motors.

However, here is the big difference between them. ESB ran a 4.48 forty while Lazard ran a 4.55 forty. Pretty big difference!

The real question is who is the better player who is more instinctive, who runs a good route tree, and who has better hands?

In my opinion both these players should make the team. Good blockers, good special teams, and simply good receivers with upside.

Hey Drew, yes it's complicated this whole roster shuffle and its a numbers game, you got that right! Liked you talking potentials of high profile players though both the Clowney & Perry missed any serious consideration; Berry could be a possibility but how healthy is he? Tao (inside LB) as a veteran presence makes sense. Whew, was holding my breath waiting for a backup QB discussion--you say Kizer is "enough" and then you said you were out of time, yet 2 minutes of music followed. All i can share is my trust in Gutey to do the right choices

QB (2) - Rodgers and Boyle
RB (3) - Jones, Williams and FA pickup (Dexter to PS)
FB (1) - Vitale
WR (7) - Adams, MVS, G-Mo, EQ, Lazard, Shep, Kumerow
TE (4) - Graham, Lewis, Tonyan, Jace
OL (9) - Bahk, Taylor, Linsley, Turner, Bulaga, Taylor, Jenkins, Light, Patrick

DL (5) - Kenny, Lowry, Adams, Keke, Lancaster
Edge (5) - Zadarius, Preston, Gary, Kyler, Gilbert
LB (4) - Blake, Burks, Ty, Bolton
CB (6) - King, Jaire, Tony, Jackson, Tramon, Holman
S (4) - Amos, Savage, Greene, Jones
Specialist (3)

Hard to 'keep' players who have not performed well in preseason over those who have flashed. Dexter is not there yet, so PS is realistic given the depth of RB across the league.

Overall like most of your selections including keeping Boyle over Kizer. At least with Boyle there may be some potential to be a better backup in the future where Kizer likely is near his ceiling and won’t be around after GB drafts a QB likely in 2020.

Wonder on a few of your selections though:

1) would be shocked if Dexter Williams doesn’t make the team. Loads of talent who needs refining in blocking, route running and schemes. But I think he would get snatched by another team and not make the PS (maybe a team with a RB injury). Also don’t see BG paying for a FA that would be more money for marginal improvement on current RB depth.

2) You accidentally listed Taylor twice on OL. Maybe drop his second listing and drop Patrick and instead add McCray (versatile fillin) and Madison (higher long term upside than Patrick).

3) Real tricky part in making a roster is in the numbers at positions like 7 WR vs 5 DL etc we shall see

4) Surprise additions through waivers or FA? Surprise trades or cuts (Kizer? Josh Jones? Graham (if his finger results in many early games missed though likely not too bad and doesn’t get cut). Have an inkling feeling GB is trying to shop Josh Jones and a few others around.

5) Redman over Jones? Assuming Raven Green can play hybrid safety
