This is how I see the Defense:
There is an over-reliance on Jaire, MacKinney, Cooper, Bullard and Williams. The D does not perform well without them. And, only 1 is currently available. They could be injured because they are doing too much.
I would love a show where there was a an objective discussion addressing the poorly-performing Defense, how we got here and what needs to happen to change direction in a substantive way. I'd like an objective deep-dive into the backgrounds, strengths and weaknesses of the defensive coaching staff, assistants included.

I have another concern: The Packers desperately need another linebacker (now)--Ty'Ron Hopper was a third round
pick and is apparently 'not ready'. Many scouts felt he was more of a 5th rounder. This kind of signing is what hurts the Packers, esp. when other LBs are injured.

NFL scouting report: The negatives.
— Wiry. Needs to add size and strength to take on blocks and hold his ground against offensive linemen in the running game.
— Lacks the strength to get re-routes when he gets his hands on tight ends. Struggles to stay in phase when tight ends get physical at the top of the route.
— Gets caught staring in the backfield in zone coverage. Often ends up covering grass instead of adjusting when threats are nearing his area.
— Struggles with his pad level when tackling. Often either goes too high and allows extra yards after contact or dives at ankles.

"But Brian Gutekunst? He told the media he had a second-round grade on Hopper. Or better. Asked in April if he felt he got five of his top 50 players with the Packers’ first five picks in the draft, Gutekunst said he did.

“Yeah,” he said. “All of the guys came out of our top two rounds.”
