AB said his Twitter goodbyes after his talk with his GM. Sounded like they both agreed it was for the best for both parties if they parted ways. I'll be happy if they Packers have another weapon for Rodgers. Won't be the least bit disappointed if they don't due to his cap hit/draft pick cost.

Well said.

I'd be happy if Packers could package Perry (to minimize cap hit) and the 4th round choice from Redskins .

I'd be ecstatic if they could trade both Perry and Graham for AB and actually gain cap space. If Steelers don't find trade partners ala Bell, it is possible (not likely) that they would go for a couple of potentially serviceable vets whose guarantees expire after 19.

We have about $30 million in cap space, and we can create a little more if we really want to. We don't have to spend it all because we can roll it over to next year.

All along, I've thought we should/could get 4 starters for that.....a high dollar safety, a mid-price safety, and two offensive linemen.

I don't know if we'll get Collins. But in general, I'm hoping that we use we'll use that money to strengthen our weakest areas.....offensive line and safety.....rather than add to areas where we already have a decent starter, like WR.

The CAP should move up to 199M in 2020. They gain 9M right out of the blocks. The carry over cash is no big deal. Use the money to extend Clark.
Daniels can walk in 2020.

we just need to be careful with our money and we need to just have a great draft we're close to getting back where we need to be if not 2019-2020 with some good pics we should be back in the hunt again but we'll have to draft a quarterback and start bringing the new quarterback up to speed

Gute doesn't need to spend money. On Collins, Thomas or my personal favorite Smith. He shouldn't trade his picks, for veterans. This is Arron Rodgers team! We have players in place. We blamed MM. Lefluer is in control. This is a bubble team now. We have Free Agents Leaving. No one cares if Ryan, CM3 , Cobb, or Wilkerson returns. Breeland is a luxury. So why worry. Be Happy! The packers love Free Agent Bargains. The fix is the draft. 1. Wilkerson must be replaced. Pass rushing starts there. @12 Wilkens is his perfect replacement and Insurance. He is better then any pick now, and has NO BAGGAGE! Next CM3, Yes he deserves to be resigned more then anyone. If he can play on another team, he still can play here. @30 Take Ryans replacement. Bush is perfect. He should run a decent 40. You just fixed a major problem! The heart of the defense!!! @44 RG is the problem. Risner is solid. And can move around. Forget TE, Forget Wr, Forget edge, Forget safety. Their Hyped picks. Risk picks, Time picks. I get people want that sexy pick. But the scouts can't agree on them. When in doubt save the money for a rainy day or when you GOT to Have IT. The good news is building for the future and fixing the team at the same time. WE Love are Team. Negativity never solved anything. Finding the right pieces should not be difficult this draft.

Antonio Morrison is Ryan's replacement. We need for Oren Burks to step it up in 2019. Otherwise we need for Josh Jones to step up at safety or ILB. For RG I expect McCray to be healthy and fill in at that spot but more OL depth is needed. Continue to get big athletes in the 4-6th rounds to develop.

Morrison , I don't agree. He got better. But he isn't the fix. Ryan could, and would beat him out if signed. Kiper has Bush. He is right on pick #30. I love it. Morrison is not the answer. How do you feel about Burks in CM3 spot? I like Risner, but Adderley S and Smith TE could be there. @44. RG @75 again.

I just wasted my time listening to that podcast. I didn’t make it to the conversation about Collins. Here’s hoping the 2nd banana was better than the 1st.

I know the Packers need a pass-rusher but what the Packers really and truly need is a STAPLE to thiis team like Reggie,Brett,Jordy, Driver etc,. The Packers need more than just Diva Rodgers or a wont last long edge rusher. I truly believe Hockenson is the guy that could be the true grit staple and represent the football attitude of what a blue collar working should be as a Green Bay Packer!

I know 12th pick for a TE. We just have to do it!!! His stock is going to rise!! He is sophomore coming out of college and he has only scratched the surface!!

12th Pick
team logo Packers
T.J. Hockenson, TE, Iowa
Even if Jimmy Graham comes back, the Packers would benefit by giving Aaron Rodgers a weapon like Hockenson, who can both block and catch. In other words, he's the perfect tight end for today's NFL. I love the idea of Hockenson falling to the Patriots as their Gronk replacement, but it feels like Hockenson won't last until the back end of the first round. Expect his stock to continue to rise in the months to come.

Anything would benefit Rodgers. Bubba Franks was everything too. Hockenson is the wrong pick @12! Man thats such a REACH. Even if they trade down, he's the wrong pick. The packers and fans don't need representation. Rodgers will not throw short. He'll go long as much as he can. It's YAC with Rodgers. Hoek won't give you that. He'll be like Chumara. Not Gronk. TE is not a priority.

Hockenson rips the seams apart. His catches go deep and he has the body control to position a safety or CB. Move the chains , but it will not be dink and dunk with this guy.

the Packers will be sorry they didn't take him at number 12 he will be the best player on the board at the position at the number 12 spot

almost in similar fashion the Packers could have had TJ want but they decided a little bit more of their need and Kevin came in and you'll see what we got there

How can you discuss acquiring AB without mentioning the ramifications of the new contract he expects? What does a contract look like for the best WR in the NFL? 5 year $100 million perhaps. What are the opportunity costs of such a signing? Certainly continued mediocre defensive play seems reasonable, also an inability to retain other key players such as Kenny Clark. Signing AB does not occur in a vacuum otherwise lets get Leveon Bell too. 2nd banana most def a thing.

Wayne,
I don’t know how you can get a down vote for your comment. AB will break the bank. He is in the middle of a 4 year, $68 million contract. He has personally stated he wants guaranteed $$ from his next team or don’t bother calling.
Let’s talk about his locker room presence. His teammates have called his actions embarrassing. He skipped Thur-Sat practices and meetings the last week of the season because of an argument with Big Ben. He showed up to play on Sun but learned he was benched, so he left his teammates and the game at half time. Apparently he had better things to do.
If I recall correctly, in 2 press conferences, Matt LaF has stated 2x he selected Assistants with high character. I will bet he wants players with high character as well. Anyone willing to take the wager? By the way, AB has 2 lawsuits against him. He trashed a luxury apartment which he was renting for $35,000/wk and claimed the staff did it. He also chucked glass vases and an ottoman off the 14th story balcony almost hitting 2 people (one was a toddler). I guess the staff did that too. Yes, we could use his skill but not the baggage or the expense which comes with it. The Pack should fill the holes they have, not create new problems. Let’s see how many down votes I get for this rant.

Yes thanks for noting his character concerns as well. He will cost a high draft pick, beaucoup bucks, and be a locker room headache. Also the draft is loaded at wr. Pass on AB!
