You will RARELY see me comment or get too excited about "Draft". But.... These two guys from GA are exactly what we need. I think they "could" have immediate impact.

I honestly believe the Draft is about Linemen and Defense and all the rest is Lottery, luck and years of maturing and development. With that said there are always the Barry Sanders type exceptions to the rule.

WTG Gute.... 2 very good selections in Round 1

Walker was projected at 46 or later in the draft not 22. Fact is he had a good combine but it was better then his playing on the field. He wasnt even the top linebacker for the team. 22 was a stretch.
Wyatt was right where he should have been. One analyst was saying based on the GA defensive scheme, Wyatt wasnt asked to pass rush but mostly stop the run so there is little film to show if he actually can pass rush.
Again, there were much better players available then these two and after all the time Gutt had to figure this out he went strickly by the combine numbers and not playing films? Good luck

I think it’s going to be more fun when Packers’ D takes the field. Be nice to not see Rodgers watching the clock slip away as the D fails makes crucial stops. Very pleased with these picks … love the POTENTIAL!

Why is Wyatt 24 years old. If he graduated at 18 he would be 22 and if he is 24 does he have a learning problem? I still think Gutt does a piss poor job evaluating smarts. Amari Rodgers didnt play much offense last year and it wasnt because of Cobb.
He made big mistakes on kick offs and how hard could that be to figure when to run out of the endzone and when not too.
Before I go all giddy I want to see if they guy can learn how to play in the NFL.

It’s always a crap shoot whether draft picks or free agent acquisition. The alchemy of coaches, players, teammates and work is a huge component.

No one is giddy, just pleased and optimistic. I like where we’re at.

The Friday crew is far and away the most difficult to listen to. Sorry you are so “confused”, Andrew. Yes, it must have been a tremendous shock to your system when the player you determined to be LB7 on your board while eating Hot Pockets in your mom’s basement doesn’t match the evaluation of the pros at 1265 Lombardi. My god, the arrogance and the over-inflated estimation of your own player evaluation skills.. Nice hobby Andrew, but do NOT quit your day job, champ. Fine to be surprised by the pick, but bitter? Bitter would suggest negativity because you believe you actually know better, which is beyond laughable.

Back in November and December, if you had told me the Packers would walk out of Day 1 of the draft with a couple of guys to upgrade the interior of the defensive front 7, I would have smiled in agreement. Since that need has not changed much, IMO, I'm still smiling. It is not the biggest need on the team but it's still a need. I hope they strongly consider letting Rich Bisaccia get some time with Walker. He's a freaky athlete.

Especially since the crazy run at WR would have left them reaching for lesser value if they had gone in that direction. I remain deeply concerned about the talent in both the WR and TE room. But you don't improve your team by reaching in the draft. You improve your team by drafting guys that are the most reasonable fit in the "BPA vs Need" Venn Diagram. I think you can make a decent argument the Packers did that very thing in round 1.

All of that being said, I do wish to retain my spot in the "Fire Gute" club. He needs to get through at least one entire draft without a panic trade up before I'll consider turning in that membership card.

This draft so far shows the real issues with cheap ball and and small market teams trying to compete.
1. The Vikes were able to just pretty much move out of round one and get three additional picks for doing nothing but moving. The point, they have one of the best running backs and back up running backs, the best receiver, tight end, pro bowl defensemen and thus, didnt have to rely on the draft for capital. Not to mention they beefed up the D via free agency and are solid before they even start drafting a hoard of players beginning today.
2. We took a linebacker from Ga who wasnt even their best at the one pick. There best linebacker was still on the board but because this guy did something at the combine and nothing on the field, he is guttys little sleeper. He was rated at 46 or later pick.
The other reach is a guy who is 24 years old already. IN three or four years he will be long in the tooth for a run stopper. Makes no sense. Defense yes, picking good defensemen not these bums no.

You are one of the most negative Packer "fans" here. Always negative.

Then you praise the Vyqueens, who just fired their GM and HC, for a few offseason moves.

I think I have you figured out now. An unhappy Vyqueen fan.

It's quite incredible, how those spectacular Vikings, routinely finish behind the clueless packers, in the race for the North!? You're an idiot!!
