Oddsmaker: Adams, Clinton-Dix Among Favorites for Rookie of the Year Awards

A pair of Green Bay Packers are among the favorites for the NFL's end-of-season Rookie of the Year awards, according to online oddsmaker

Safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, the Packers' first round draft choice, stands at 20-1 odds to win the Defensive Rookie of the Year, which ranks tied for eighth among all defensive rookies.

Thus far in training camp, Clinton-Dix has yet to crack the starting lineup as one of the Packers' safeties, although there's perhaps still time with two more preseason games to go.

Meanwhile, wide receiver Davante Adams—a second round draft choice of the Packers—stands at 25-1 odds to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Only 10 other offensive rookies have shorter odds as Adams is tied for 11th.

It would appear as if Adams is the Packers' fourth wide receiver at best at this stage of training camp.

No other Packers players were listed.

I don't know what it is exactly, but something with Clinton-Dix's situation reminds me of Eddie Lacy last year.
They both weren't labeled starters right away and had to earn it. Both had penciled in starters ahead of them. As time went on last year Lacy just got better and better.
It feels like that is happening to Clinton-Dix as well... Just these last few days in camp it seems as if Clinton-Dix is starting to make more plays. Hopefully that translates to games and we start seeing an impact from him.

I am not saying Clinton-Dix will win the DROY award or anything, but I think he could be starting and playing really well at the end of the season similar to how Lacy did last year.

Those odds will stand up. Neither of these guys are really in the running. Not that they are bad players but they aren't light it up players.
Dix looks lost and Adams, who knows how much time he is going to get playing.
