Not So Fast: Report Says Browns Have Shown No Interest In Flynn

The Cleveland Plain Dealer refutes a South Florida Sun-Sentinel report on Tuesday that said the Browns and Dolphins were after Flynn.

From Mary Cay Cabot:

The Browns have not pursued Green Bay free agent quarterback Matt Flynn and are not set to make him a contract offer, a league source told the Plain Dealer.

A report in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel on Tuesday said the Browns and Dolphins were after Flynn and that both teams were exchanging contract proposals with his agent, Bill Johnson.

The Browns have declined to comment on any free agents they haven't signed.

Round and round we go, where it stops, nobody knows...

The ONLY thing I care about in this process is he gets paid enough and then performs well to net us a 3rd round pick.

Exhibit A:

"The Browns have not pursued Green Bay free agent quarterback Matt Flynn"

Exhibit B:

"The Browns have declined to comment on any free agents they haven't signed."

Ummm.. So what the Cleveland Plain Dealer is saying, in essence, is that they don't know anything about what Cleveland is doing, because they won't talk about anyone they haven't signed, but- somehow, they know something about what Cleveland isn't doing with a free agent they haven't signed?

Wow.
