NFLPA Announces Team Salary Cap Space Carry Over

The Packers have carried over more than $6 million worth of cap space from 2015.

The NFL Players Association has released their annual list of amounts of cap space each team is intending to carry over from the previous year.

Every team elected to carry over unused salary cap space from 2015. Note that the Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints opted to not carry over the full amount available to them. The smallest carryover amount is $11,587 by the Seattle Seahawks, and the largest is $32,774,928 by the Jacksonville Jaguars. The total carryover amount from 2015 is $203,963,112, making the average carryover per Club $6.4 million.

Under the current CBA, Clubs have minimum cash spending requirements. For the years 2013-2016, Clubs are required to spend an average of 89% of the Salary Cap over the four-year period. League-wide, Clubs must spend an average of 95% of the Salary Cap over the four-year period.

Once the 2016 salary cap is set, the carryover amount and other adjustments from the 2015 season will be combined for each team’s official salary cap position.

The Packers are slated to carry over $6,953,847 in cap space, which is a decent amount compared to some others.

With all the low priced players and the Packers are in the low end middle of the pack for money. Just how freekin much did Teddy give to Rogers and Mathews? I heard they account for 66% of the salary cap and if so no wonder Ted has no free agent activity and has to resign so so players.

So by that you're saying that Matthews and Rodgers account for $99 Million of this years $155 million in cap space? I'm sorry but does that EVEN SOUND possible???

GB is only about $500K over the average amount carried over, but it is 11th highest in total amount, and GB already extended its best player, with some of that counting against the 2015 cap, lowering their carryover. Solid work by TT.
