NFL reportedly to announce elimination of 1st and 4th 2020 preseason games
Coaches will get more practice time after an offseason that saw no on-field work.

Week One and Week Four will be the preseason weeks that are scrapped, per source.

This would eliminate the Packers preseason games against the Cardinals at home and the Chiefs on the road.
The move was driven by two primary factors. First, teams who will be playing preseason games on the road won’t want to move that many people. Second, given that no teams had on-field practice sessions in the offseason, coaches would rather have the extra time to work with their teams, and that will happen if they don’t have to worry about two extra preseason games.

I think they should have kept the 1st game and eliminated the 3rd and 4th games then moved the 1st and 2nd games back one week.

Good move by the league. Only need 2 preseason games, Covid or not.
Hopefully more practice will result in a better level of play during the early part of the regular season.
