NFL Considering Green Bay For Multi-City Draft

After the success of their new three-day format, the NFL is considering the possibility of having multiple host cities in the near future. Green Bay could be one of those cities.

Sports Illustrated's Richard Deitsch had a brief sit down with with Roger Goodell yesterday about the new draft format. Toward the end of his article for SI.com, Deitsch dropped the following little nugget:

One of the interesting possibilities Goodell told SI.com on Friday night was the notion of holding the draft in multiple cities."We have talked about whether you move to a location, or maybe you move one day of the draft," Goodell said. "If we are successful doing the draft on three days, that may be one alternative, to take one of those days and move it to a different location."

The fun part? I was told that they are seriously considering Green Bay as a potential host city should they ever explore the multi-city draft.

How exactly would that work out? I may be simple-minded, but I can't figure it out...

No idea what the particulars would be, but that's awesome. Those uppity New Yorkers and their sense of entitlement. :)

I think it should stay all three days in NY. Where else would they find enough idiots to effectively boo Carl Lewis?

I find it hard to believe that GB will have a venue that the NFL would find acceptable but if they do then you know those fans will fill that place to the freaking rafters. Of course that also means that EVERY teams pick that isnt GB will get boo'd. lol

Only the NFL could put their draft on TV and outdraw NBA playoffs, MLB and CNN in the cable ratings. The US Treasury could take lessons in printing money from the NFL.

Me thinks a great idea, at Lambeau Field, third day. Perfect fit- last chance for hard working kids to make there dream come true in a small market in the NFL. Plus helping revenue in GB.

While I usually reserve my "I have to do this!" travel funds for trips to Green Bay for games, this would be of interest. Sounds like fun.
